Lovely to visit @akivaschool around #worldbookday2025 this week. The focus was A Boy From Baghdad @greenbeanbooks the kids had fun learning some Arabic. Y5 and Y6. The school studies Saving Hanno in Y6 for guided reading and have bought a set of books for class. Lovely!!

Great literary lunch today at The British Library friends and writers of children's historical fiction. Penny Speller, Julie Sullivan and Julia Newsome. Julie and I also visited the exhibition Medieval Women in Their Own Words. Amazing exhibits. Thoroughly recommend. Now I have new books to read!

My new project. Cushion cover tapestry. I'm doing half cross stitch and really loving it. Haven't done anything like this before.
Wrote 800 words of Chapter 12 today. The last 6 words lit a fire. My characters talked away in my head for the rest of the day #whyIwrite
Wonderful Iraqi brunch with amazing artist, cook and writer, @lindadangoorcreativeliving and husband Frank. The food was amazing. Salad with amba (mango pickle) Reminded me of my mother in law. Silan with tahini, foul and egg and so much more.
