"When you consider that Xbox has been in terminal decline since the Xbox One was revealed...a sequence of interwoven events and trends that are the result of countless people's missteps and ineptitude, it sure seems weird to dedicate so much time in the story to the legacy of a single Black woman."
Feel like this would also work for @taskmaster.tv
I am sorry that happened to you, that sucks big time.

Well done!
Louder for the Dems who are still not getting it.
I care more about my LGBTQ+ friends and family that I do about your party. If we need to tear the "left" of this country down to the studs and start over, well that is what we will do.
Last night I installed Linux on my ROG Ally.

I didn't make this, but it needs a reposting.
I will never get used to the disdain our country holds for brown and Black children.
From Palestine to Iran to Sudan, we normalize the destruction of schools and hospitals and daycares. We reduce children to death tolls and their futures to rubble with no consequence or second thought.
Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads: The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same... - Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist
Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.
We're no more than a few hours away from the next phase of digital propaganda: unverified videos of "liberated people celebrating" will go viral. Many of these videos will later be revealed to have predated the illegal war, or be entirely unrelated to current events
Upshot: verify before amplifying
Kansas revoked trans people's drivers licenses literally overnight. Bathroom policing in multiple states. Women's rights curtailed. Making people's very existence political and/or sexual. Concentration camps in the US. ICE.
The GOP makes a mockery of our nation's values.

For my @xtramagazine.com column this month, I explained why Gavin Newsom's flirtation with anti-trans policy won't win a single conservative or centrist vote for him and also makes him a non-starter for trans lefties. xtramagazine.com/power/politi...
Finished Slow Gods by Claire North. It was a great read and a good look at surviving in the chaos of the world. Will be thinking about it for a while.
Going to shift into some cozier vibes and catch up on what Travis Baldree has been up to.

It's strange how going through the house buying process has me feeling the most adult ever AND like a failure who is completely out of his depth.
I'm sure this is the sign of a well functioning society...
it's easy to say 'violence is never the answer' if you've never had to fight for your life
Sometimes when I see people who are "taken out" of a story by what at first seems like an inconsistency, I wonder about the lack of imagination in them.
I've always found that staying curious and wondering why the apparent inconsistency makes for interesting story telling and character building.
