very real among game devs, rarely public. iโm seeing one unfold publicly now, but donโt wanna draw attention to it. itโs sad. i want to say itโll be ok, but in truth it wonโt.
game design is such an embarrassingly human endeavor. you stumble through iterations, lost in the woods like 20 times even tho this happened on your last game. The real magical games somehow feel likeโฆ the result of that process. Something was FOUND after the SEARCHING. So cool. Letโs keep doing it

Back in 2017 (jfc) I interviewed Team Cherry about how they designed Hollow Knight's map, and got a bunch of sketches and mockups from throughout the game's development to go with it. Bringing it back in anticipation of Silksong!
