I think both can be true. You can see that there are clear problems elsewhere, while you also see that some of the here problems have been imagined differently elsewhere, & consider that the some of the obviously bad things here are getting measurably worse with no discernible effort to address that

I once forgot the word straw & essentially said “you put your mouth on one side and the beverages in the other side and” *pantomimed sucking* which earned me an absolutely fantastic nickname at that restaurant for rest of the summer
I am like that in Spanish, I can read it fairly easily, understand a decent amount listen, but draw an absolute blank on how to grammar the moment it becomes about expressive language (written or spoken)
Yeah I get learning a new language is hard but if you have ready access to a native speaker who wants to help you learn, you should at least know a little
