Something I like about the Aubrey-maturin novels is they just let the characters exist in the time period even if it risks making them unlikable to modern readers

There’s something really fun about Thor operating under a completely different moral system when he first shows up

Would ever hurt him. Film Thor needs to learn humility, comic thor (or at least this comics Thor) needs to learn wisdom

It’s interesting the season one books were intended as a way in for folks who see the movie and want to check out comics but there’s some difference here compared to the film. There thors actions are entirely ego driven here it’s love for Loki and an inability to imagine Loki

Spider-Man season one rest of the book is fairly decent this is just a dumb dumb page

Honestly kind of a clever idea that Peters initial response to his powers was a flawed attempt to follow Ben’s morals

On the whole Spider-Man season one is fine, it’s another retelling of the origin and unlike some of them (xmen season one) the origin is already really tight so not as much room to play.

Really captures the power fantasy well though

Vulture predating Spider-Man is kind of a weird choice but it is really cute that uncle Ben came up with the bugle idea

Man Gwen does not have good luck with the guys after her

Im pretty blatant about feeling like Peter and Mary Jane was ultimately the right decision and that the death of Gwen Stacy was effective drama.

Robbie really was one of the best additions to the cast of Spider-Man. Little scenes like this are magic and he enables them to exist

I like it when spidey leaves the big apple. It’s almost always fun (or horrifically traumatizing for Peter in the case of that adventure with Wolverine in Germany which was fun for me)
