Something I like about the Aubrey-maturin novels is they just let the characters exist in the time period even if it risks making them unlikable to modern readers

The hammer is the plan
Donald Blake really is a tragedy. An entire life created and loved entirely to teach a lesson to something so much grander than youβll ever be
Thereβs something really fun about Thor operating under a completely different moral system when he first shows up
If your Thor isnt majestic as hell i donβt want him
Would ever hurt him. Film Thor needs to learn humility, comic thor (or at least this comics Thor) needs to learn wisdom
Itβs interesting the season one books were intended as a way in for folks who see the movie and want to check out comics but thereβs some difference here compared to the film. There thors actions are entirely ego driven here itβs love for Loki and an inability to imagine Loki
How do you say that boy ainβt right in faux Shakespearean?
Spider-Man season one rest of the book is fairly decent this is just a dumb dumb page
Honestly kind of a clever idea that Peters initial response to his powers was a flawed attempt to follow Benβs morals
Thats a clothesline JBL would be proud of
Just, just say itβs pro wrestling
On the whole Spider-Man season one is fine, itβs another retelling of the origin and unlike some of them (xmen season one) the origin is already really tight so not as much room to play.
Really captures the power fantasy well though
Vulture predating Spider-Man is kind of a weird choice but it is really cute that uncle Ben came up with the bugle idea
Man Gwen does not have good luck with the guys after her
And may I just say
Nice
Thinking on it it is kinda weird that the savage land became a go to romantic get away for marvel titles
Back when comics were good
And in the background theres Robbie absolutely loving this
Im pretty blatant about feeling like Peter and Mary Jane was ultimately the right decision and that the death of Gwen Stacy was effective drama.
The two had some moments
This is why Xavierβs should not have cut the social sciences program
Robbie really was one of the best additions to the cast of Spider-Man. Little scenes like this are magic and he enables them to exist
The real question is which of them gets tied up (Fred, itβs Fred)
I dream of having her confidence
βMary Jane, I just, I canβt even. You know there are times I think you want to fuck Peter Parker!!!β
βoh and you donβt?β
βThats besides the pointβ
Iβd feel bad for Harry but I donβt
Honestly pretty reasonable far as cops in Spider-Man go.
Only on special occasions. Fred needs time to put in the work to do it right. Minimum of six months researching rope brands
The whole worlds a joke and Mary Jane is the only one laughing.
I really love her during this period
I like it when spidey leaves the big apple. Itβs almost always fun (or horrifically traumatizing for Peter in the case of that adventure with Wolverine in Germany which was fun for me)
