Today's lunch at Chez Jones (outside!): morning roll containing pistachio mortadella, lettuce and mayo.
yup. quite a few replies seemed to agree but they could also be bots / regular people who like to "social media"
I wonder if it's a weird social media thing then. Although when I lived in Japan I do think that sushi was considered a special treat. Maybe different these days. People ate a lot of ramen though, maybe because it was very cold in winter.
i'm just talking about social media Japanese people. Although I lived in Japan, I don't remember anyone saying this to me, or not eating those foods with me (and I ate them often when I lived there, especially ramen)
it's pretty popular! when i was in malaysia about 10 years ago i didn't see pizza, and in some countries i think it was viewed as "a wealthy person food" so not too many people ate it.
Tonight at Chez Jones: piri piri chicken wings, sweet potato fries, spicy creamed corn (corn, milk, cayenne, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic, thyme, parsley, cinnamon, honey, lime juice).
you can buy them in the supermarkets, so it's an easy one to throw in the oven one night perhaps. maybe not the best pizzas though if frozen from a supermarket. could sprinkle some on another pizza i suppose!
oh haggis pakora is great! I assume you've tried it on pizza?
i haven't finished but i really hope they learn to be better to their daughter and still get a divorse because they do not seem capable of getting on
Dark times in "It Takes Two" involving a Queen Cutie / elephant.
These parents suck.
they sell kippers at my local morrinsons in edinburgh, but i've not bought them! probably should
I don't think that's necessarily the case here as I get the impression it's more chill in Scotland. But there are many ancient towns/sights around that visitors will drive about and see 20 things, I've not been to many. I really should though.
yeah when you live somewhere popular you tend not to do the tourist stuff! well, I tend not to. I live in Edinburgh and haven't done a bunch of stuff / visited a lot of places that the tourists visit
I wonder how common it is to eat rarebit and laverbread. I assume welshcakes are eaten on the regular
I love sushi in Japan, you can't really find a great equivalent here I think (unless perhaps if you remortgage your house and spend a fortune)
Today's brunch at Chez Jones: fried mortadella with pistachio, scrambled eggs, tomato and cucumber.
Yeah me too. Deep fried haggis supper was my go-to after a night on the drink. Or haggis pizza.
Tonight at Chez Jones: Indian spiced mutton chops with minted yogurt, coriander and Cucumber. Then, tandoori chicken leg, green daal, wholemeal chapati, red onion, cucumber, coriander.
A fry up is usually a rare treat etc.
But when you're a visitor you want to try the iconic foods, you indulge.
I've seen a few posts of people saying Japanese people rarely eat x food (sushi and ramen in particular), but tourists eat lots of it while there.
I think that's quite similar in many places. People in Scotland tend not to eat haggis bonbons, Cullen skink and cranachan that often either.
"Slay The Spire 2" (early) launches tomorrow. Possibly not a lot of people know the game, but I've spent... some considerable time playing the first (I hope a lot of those hours are due to me leaving it running in the background). Suffice to say I'll be getting the sequel on launch.
Tonight at Chez Jones: coconut, chicken and yellow pepper curry with wholemeal chapati.
Sauce: onion, black mustard seeds, cinnamon stick, cloves, curry leaves, ginger, garlic, madras curry powder, cayenne pepper, coconut milk, msg, white pepper.
Kicking off spring with a lie in his hole.
Dreamed I fought in a martial arts tournament and made it to the final, against... A Xenomorph! The odds weren't in my favour but I won by ring-out. And now surely I am the galaxy's greatest hand-to-hand combatant. That is all, thank you.
Tonight at Chez Jones: roast chicken, sausages, cauliflower cheese, thyme gravy, cabbage and onions.
Boy's back home after a day at the vets. X-rays, investigations, nail clipping, blood tests coming and... He has a small infection in his paw, nothing else (although what will the blood say?)
My bank account is weeping.
Today's lunch at Chez Jones: buttermilk chicken thigh with American cheese, lettuce, gherkin, tomato, sriracha sauce, coleslaw.
there's definitely some great shows out at the moment, there are just a lot more bad ones. mind you, look back at old american soaps/dramas - absolute shyte
