She’s functional, but she’s not a typal commander. She’s a better elf commander than Kithkin, as it’s way easier to make token elves. Yuna from final fantasy is a better Kithkin commander, she at least interacts with small creatures in a positive way. It’s just a lack where it was needed.
Damn. This is such a good thread. I’ve been hyped for the return to one of my favorite planes for ages, but as I looked at spoilers, I felt a little disappointed. I hadn’t been able to put my finger on exactly why until reading this.
These are rich worlds and I would like to see all of the elements get basic attention. In the design doc when they say (paraphrasing) we just decided to under design these tribes, we didn’t have the space, that tells you everything.
The story is that we aren’t paying these worlds enough care. I was there when these sets came out, hell, I was there for the release of Dark. The cuts, the under design, the trim is to the in world sets. There will be 4 different versions of each ninja turtle, and 3 Kithkin commanders.
You can’t use the hybrids without that in your color identity (for now). Gaddok is a hate bear commander. Any of them could be Kithkin commanders, but they aren’t doing anything to help. Yuna grand summoner is a much better Kithkin commander than any Kithkin for example. But the Kith isnt the story.
