I watched at home, you’re not missing much on a smaller screen. Kinda more a film to watch by yourself any way

I’m seeing The Plague on people’s 2025 lists: not counting festivals, it only played 2 screens the last week of the year before releasing wide in 2026. So it’s going on my list this year!

Bc women aren’t allowed to have messy films. I bet a lot of the male critics who slammed this loved Marty Supreme

Here comes The Bride and she’s got a GUN! While there are many flaws that can be discussed, I’m overly charmed by Buckley & Bale and Maggie G’s unabashed mania. Has its quirks and firmly in the spirit of the original text. Take a listen!

A ★½ review of I, Frankenstein (2014)
Hmmm, gargoyles vs demons, slo-mo fight scenes, Bill Nighy is the villain…I’m getting some big Underworld vibes (based in the graphic novel by Kevin Grevioux aka Mr. Underworld himself) Ah, of course!...
I, FRANKENSTEIN is 100% as bad as it’s reputation: however, shout-out to Mr. Underworld Kevin Grevioux for living his black nerd dreams coming up with gothic horror action stories and getting them made into movies 🤷🏽♂️

The Bride! Gives New Life to a Story We Think We Know
Sarah shares her review of The Bride! and discusses why it will be a hard movie to top in terms of 2026 releases.
My review for #TheBrideMovie is now live on the site! It's a film that takes risks, and those risks paid off in dividends for me. I really loved this film a lot.
Read on to find out why: sarahstubbssays.com/the-bride-re...

A screenshot from THE REPLACEMENTS featuring football players on the sidelines during a game
Not watching, but I loooove THE REPLACEMENTS. I’ve seen this so many times, was a USA channel staple. Underrated football movie! Also one of the most random casts that just works: prime Keanu, Gene Hackman, Rhys Ifans, an insane Jon Favraeu, Orlando Jones, Faizon Love • #FThisMovieFest

Every day I’m questioning why we don’t get more modern films in black & white, lotta sauce being left in the bottle. Some gorgeous stuff in ONIBABA 🤌🏽

A mother and child play in the pool. Their heads stretch, extending upwards in long tendrils and leaving the frame.
Two children swim in the pool. Their heads stretch out, twisting and branching until they leave the frame.
A busy pool. Two people presumably swim inside, as their heads have extended into large masses that stretch out into the sky.
A chainlink fence with a sign that reads "POOL CLOSED". Behind, in the distance, enormous masses of what used to be flesh cover much of the sky.
Don't go into the pool.

It wasn't "cancel culture" when women and people of color got used up, silenced, and dismissed before their careers even began. It only became "cancel culture" when powerful abusers started having established careers momentarily inconvenienced by revelations of what they'd done.

Seeing SCREAM 7 make a bunch of money despite the controversies while THE BONE TEMPLE flops is so disappointing. Like why did they pick January to release it only 6 months after the previous? People spend significantly less money coming outta the holiday season and normies were barely aware of it
