its cause they purge all inks and nozzles at the beginning (thus wasting liquid gold ink) but some do use the other colours to create a wider spectrum of "black". Ink jets will always be a scam tbh

Oh damn. Shucking is usually the way to go to get ‘cheap’ drives but I’ve not looked what it’s like here in the UK! I do remember WD saying they’d honour warranty on shucked drives
further note, only Seagate and WD (SanDisk) make HDDs so any other brand etc is just a Seagate or WD drive.
what are the prices on the WD MyBook or Easy Stores those are usually indentical to WD Red drives (with 'White' labels). Basically any HDD over 10TB or so are usually indentical drives with slightly different firmwares, usually with minimal to zero operational differences.
