Reminder: if you are worried about AI replacing you as an artist: don’t use AI voices,
If you don’t want composing to be handed over to AI: don’t use it to write text.
You get the idea.
If you value your job: protect others jobs too.

I’ve never forgotten this picture from 2016 and how it completely reshaped my understanding of how the media covers protests.

“What I’ve come to learn is that representation without redistribution – of power, resources or decision-making – is not justice. And working within institutions that aren’t prepared to listen, adapt or truly share space only goes so far.”
I wrote about exactly this a few months ago!!!! youngvulgarian.substack.com/p/the-one-wh...

For the future of healthcare in our subscribed world, but it is also so in tune with the realities now for people who are facing chronic illness and fatigue and the increasing lack of accessible and affordable care.
I’m sure others have already said it but Common People, the first ep of s7 of Black Mirror, is absolutely gut wrenching to watch as a person with a health condition in a marriage. I can’t sleep after watching.
The reason it’s so effective is yes, it has something to say about the potential…

I’m envious of people who have wider things to live for.
I need to find something else I love which is accessible to me as my health stops me doing so many of my old loves. Because everything I love is either being destroyed by AI or is inaccessible because my health has got worse.
I’ve been afraid to say I’m struggling to keep it together but. Yeah.
david lynch baby
me seeing a new AI trend all over my socials
The rest is people who infantilise it and see it as something to be corrected… see previous post…
Also yet again I think much of the anti-asexuality stuff we see is from people on that spectrum who don’t realise it, who think that nobody is actually sexually motivated (they are) because they’re not (or they’re in situations where their needs are being bulldozed.)
Do I also think that makes for tensions within the community… of course! If you have some people who are disgusted at acts around others who are fighting for their right to be sexually open, of course that will happen. But we are together because less than 100 years ago corrective rape was legal!
The reason asexuality is part of the lgbtqia grouping is because that grouping exists because of people othered by being excluded from heteronormative societal standards. Asexual people historically have been punished for not engaging in sexual desire! That’s facts baby!
So weird, that this was a company anyway. It's like finding out that hopscotch has gone bankrupt
What happens when you are a natural born people-pleaser… and also a critic?
@anyaryan.bsky.social has been called ‘heartless’ for being a theatre reviewer, and yet she hates conflict. Here, she reflects on the competing urge to be honest, and to be liked
For anyone thinking to themselves ah yes I'm having a nice day but what would really be the icing on the cake is 300,000 words about #LesMis, my creative–critical PhD thesis on the novel and its adaptations, including fanwork, is available online for free! hdl.handle.net/10779/uos.24...
Accept that your partner will have interests and a life away from you and that’s okay!
Develop friendships with women! Genuine ones!
And on a very basic level, stop thinking of it as a guaranteed progression path. Human relationships are messy and emotional and that’s okay.
Wild to say but treat your potential partner as a person is up the top. Actually be interested in them.
Stop dating to impress your mates.
If you want to date a model-level beauty, you have to bring something to the table too. That lifestyle isn’t cheap and the gym is a hobby in itself.
P.S. All reskys of this much-appreciated. I'd love to have these all gone by the end of the day as our house currently has 5,000+ of my backlist in it (you'll know why if you check out my Substack) and we'd like to clear less convoluted routes to our fridge, bed and kitchen sink.
Oh, this is great.
Earlier this week I came back from a short residential stay at @gladlib.bsky.social and it was just what I needed. Time to think, to read, to research, to write. 8k new words and 8 books read!
A reminder they willfully misinterpret the concept of 'woke' and now they are blaming us for a concept we didn't invent. These people are mad. But what's madder is that it worked???
