Im Vordergrund stehen Schneeglöckchen mit weißen, glockenförmigen Blüten und schmalen, grünen Blättern. Daneben blühen zahlreiche Krokusse mit violetten Blütenblättern und leuchtend gelben Staubgefäßen. Das Sonnenlicht hebt die Farben der Blüten hervor, während der Hintergrund aus weiteren grünen Blättern und unscharfen Blüten besteht.
Frühblüher treffen sich abends im Wald. 🌱

A distinctive buzz and my first sighting this year of a male Hairy-footed Flower Bee. Another sign of Spring amongst the #WildflowerHour #SignsOfSpring Sweet Violets posted last Sunday. #WildWebsWednesday
It may not be its usual habitat (inside a planter!) but this Common Whitlowgrass (Erophila verna) is a pretty little spring flower.

Unlike many other woodpeckers, both males and females have a red crown, which makes them harder to tell apart. It prefers mature forests with rough bark, where it can easily find insects hiding in cracks. It is considered a good indicator species: it presence often means the forest is healthy and well preserved.
