This "put me to mind" of my first time reading Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Turn of the Screw. Granted, it was years ago, but they were older than me.

I agree completely. Stood there for at least 20 minutes dumbstruck.

I really struggled with a scene in this new novel last night and gave up in frustration. This morning when I came into the office, I found the "A" from the keyboard under my desk. It might have been a little more than frustration.

Put a slug of Bailey's Irish Cream in it. "It gives you a whole new outlook on the day." Bonus points for the movie quote. ☺️
