Disability accommodations are a rare thing that actually trickles down. You like curb cutouts? Auto-opening doors? Jar openers? Ramps? Hand rails? YOU’RE WELCOME

Even as an abled person you use disability accommodations every single day.

Supporting accommodations actually helps everyone.

It’s a tool of an authoritarian regime that manipulates information reach. People are starting to realise.

Fab blog by the way @karachrome.bsky.social. You’ve summed up the issues exactly. There are a handful of learning disability physicians now, across the country (and I’m starting a new role myself soon), but it’ll be a while before there’s anywhere near enough.

Completely agree learning disability medicine needs to be a specialty of its own. We’re chipping away at it! The PGCert course is a good starting point, until we get enough leverage, interest and funding to be able to do more.

Long words? I’ll have to Google πŸ€ͺ
