Casablanca Clock that I have recently acquired and hanging in the computer room. Been wanting to find more memorabilia for awhile, and figured this would be a perfect match for the computer room knowing the 1988 Bright Brass Delta II is currently in there.

The seller bought this fan years ago and never installed it. The box says "1 of 2", assuming the seller had bought 2 of them and had one installed years ago. From factory, the tag on the motor housing covered in Galvanized Steel was what I thought would be "GE-28", but I came to a conclusion and said it's most likely a QC sticker. Red Robin (not too far from my workplace) had Polished Copper Industries that had since been removed, Aquatica Orlando had Rust Industries in the entry and exit that had since been replaced with Kichler Canfields, and the middle of the entrance seemingly got replaced with a Harbor Breeze Calera. Iirc, the Galvanized Steel (or Rust) Industries (now I think about it) in one of the pavilions were most likely replaced. I'm really excited to have one after all these years.

This fan has:
-Included 42" White blades by choice, blade arms pitched at 13 degrees
-144x28mm GE skeletal K55XL-type motor with 4 blade only metal flywheel
-A light pullchain to operate the optional light kit
-3 speed pullchain with triple-capacitor setup, electrically reversible

The fan was made in China.

The fan was made in China.

Yet blades are made in Taiwan.

Yet blades are made in Taiwan.

Upon opening up the motor housing, I noticed it uses a skeletal stack motor similar to the K55XL, albeit with different characteristics. It still has the label "GE-28" with the label on top of the end bell having the year "2010" when the motor was made in the same year as the fan. Venting on both end bells are different from the Emerson K55XL, coupler and top end bell are attached in 2 pieces given the mounting holes on top of the end bell is similar to the GE K55-type similar to the early 80s 6005zz bearing Emerson K55 used on Casablancas, both shaft ends are double-threaded, and rotor shaft diameter is 20mm.

NEW FAN: NIB 42" Modern Fan Company in Galvanized Steel from October of 2010. Acquired it from Facebook Marketplace. A bit steep for what I would want, but it's a major childhood fan of mine and I really wanted it so badly for a very long time.

It was missing a safety strap upon arrival. However, the seller's husband misplaced the safety strap and were late for an appointment. The seller had found the safety strap and I had it mailed to the seller since I wasn't feeling that well due to my nose being iffy. Should've picked it up, but it all worked out well. It's almost in good condition other than the switch cap and housing yellowed a bit, and some scratches on the faceplate. I replaced the chain connector as the original one was losing its grip. Really excited that I now have a Kontrust Homestead.

This fan has:
-Included MSW50-6 Snow White blades, blade arms pitched at 14 degrees
-140x30mm Kontrust K55-type motor with 4/6 blade rubber flywheel with proprietary 1-1/8" blade spacing like the Firebird ones opposed to the 1-1/4" blade spacing on the Comfort-Flow, Homestar (ex: Chippendale, Coventry, and Geneva), and Superfan -3 speed pullchain with triple-capacitor PC board, electrically reversible

Post image The EZ lock downrod for some reason is missing a blue wire for the light that I'll look into adding should an optional light kit be operated separately from the fan.

Normally, the Homestar fans (ex: Geneva) would have 10uf as its start value. However, this fan had its capacitor value detuned from 10uf or 9uf. Perhaps I might up it to a 10uf.

It's not in the best condition as it has minor water damage on the side of the motor housing, switch cap, and covered in house paint that I tried to cleaned up to the best of my ability as I could, but there's still some paint that I have yet to get off. For some reason, I didn't have good luck with using warm water to remove the paint from the canopy given that it eats up the finish to the point where I'm on the fence to relacquer the canopy with guitar lacquer. One of the screws on the coupler is pulling a fight against me where I'm forced to invest in easy out tool. While this is the first fan I acquired of 2026, this will be my next project fan.

This fan has:
-Included Gloss Rosewood/Gloss Oak blades, blade arms pitched at 14 degrees
-140x30mm Kontrust K55-type motor with 4/5 blade rubber flywheel
-Included bowl light kit that from June of 2005 that was added around 2005 - 2006.
-3 speed pullchain with PC board, electrically reversible

This fan was somehow listed to be in "Oregon City, OR". However, the seller who gave me the address to pick it up actually lives in Vancouver, WA where I had to pick it up in said Vancouver, WA. It had its blades installed when it was removed, but I had a screwdriver on hand with me to take the blades off for not only ease of transport, but to prevent accidental warpage to the flywheel. The W11 control was still on the wall, so I had to remove it. Typical sellers who aren't experienced with fans will most (if not all) of the time leave the control on the wall and/or toss it out, making the fan useless unless it's converted to a different control system. It also has a slimmer switch housing and bearing noise. Bearings will be replaced. Being a common fan, I mainly go for the uncommon and/or rare finishes along with lesser common blade set and/or glassware. Being in Bright Copper/Bright Brass, I knew I had to acquire it, and I'm glad I secured on acquiring such a common fan in a less common finish.

This fan has:
-B565 Gloss Walnut blades, blade arms pitched at 14 degrees
-140x25mm Emerson K55 with 4/5 blade rubber flywheel (seems like it would've had a 5 blade only rubber flywheel at some point, but was later replaced given the 2 retaining rings on top of the shaft)
-Included 3 light fitter with G414 glass. Light kit has cloth wiring with the striped wire as the neutral and a solid wire hot that has yet to be frayed
-6 speed InteliTouch control with RMM3 board, electrically reversible

Both are electrically reversible and have bearing noise.

While I didn't really plan on acquiring the Huntington III albeit I got it anyways because it was free and a childhood fan of mine, I'm really happy to acquire another Homestead since I plan to use the Whisperfan III for my brother's bedroom and add a light kit on. Albeit I'm looking for a shorter downrod and a bell canopy for it if anyone is willing to part with.

Huntington III uses a 5 blade only 153x18mm, 12 degree blade pitch with reversible White/Bleached Oak blades, 4 light kit w/alabaster shades that can be removed, ball and socket mount with 3" downrod that can be flushmounted, and triple-capacitor setup with speed capacitors operating the speeds. It was missing setscrews for the downrod, clevis, and cotter pin that I got replacements, broken canopy ring that I replaced, broken Shine Top light chain replaced with Zing Ear 109, original TFFN or THHN lead wires cut near the downrod coupler replaced with standard PVC wires (not oil-bath so it's not a big deal), drifting 4.5uf capacitor that I replaced (may up it to a 5uf), and Wu Pin LJY280A replaced with Zing Ear 268S6 since the contact in the L terminal doesn't want the wire stay in place upon replacing the lead wires. This fan likely replaced something cooler like another Homestead. A house I've been to as a kid had a White Huntington III flushmounted.

Whisperfan III uses a GE 5KCP39CG K55-type motor w/6 blade only metal flywheel, 12 degree blade pitch with B038 Oak blades, ball and socket slope ceiling canopy w/spiral downrod, 3-way Leviton fan/light/fan + light with speeds operated by an on/off cardboard variable speed control. Like Hunter for the light wire, it has a black/white stripe wire for the fan since there's a black wire inside the switch housing for the capacitor. This fan was covered with paint splatters, so I cleaned it off with Simple Green (still need to do the same for the canopy and downrod), gave WD-40 for the pullchain as it was a bit stiff, and also took some finish off the blades that can be fixed with Old English. Stupid me though I can clean the screws with hydrogen preoxide, but didn't go well. Oh well, it's fine. May replace the screws to make it look nicer.

The fan on the left has the worst bearings, original light socket, blades painted to match up the wood finish, all blade arms in tact, and a bent top plate. The one on the right has better bearings, replacement light socket, generic blade arm with a replacement blade since the owner's roommate broke a blade arm most likely, and a top plate that didn't get bent. Both of them still have bad bearings and will need to be replaced. For whatever reason, the light kit hot wire is connected to the black fan hot wire that's also connected to the red wire to the pullchain in position L from factory.
