I watched Spandexorcist and had the best time with it. (I knew all the jokes and I still laughed.) It is quite the experience seeing the words you wrote brought to life for the first time. Kudos to all the folks who helped put this picture together. (The cast was amazing!) weird girls rule!
My copies of Spandexorcist arrived today! I wrote a movie…and Michelle Bauer is in it! I’m pretty excited!
The new issue of Medusa Fanzine just arrived from France! It includes a combination of my two interviews with filmmaker J.D. Feigelson (Dark Night of the Scarecrow) and covers his entire career. The layout is amazing! 20 oversized pages bursting with color. Thank you, Didier!
Thank you.
My first post of 2026 is up on rue-morgue.com now- my friend, the late, great Sam Sherman. rue-morgue.com/recollection...
The “Coward’s Corner” is ready for tonight’s screening of John Carpenter’s The Thing (1982). No matter what the storm brings this weekend, it’ll be a cake walk compared to what the boys at Outpost 31 had to deal with back in the winter of ‘82.
I knew I watched a lot of Carry On last year, but I’m surprised my most watched actor wasn’t Kenneth Williams or Sid James.
New Review: DR GIGGLES (1992)
"An escapee from a lunatic asylum, convinced he's a doctor, returns to his hometown and begins killing teenagers. It isn’t hard to see why this potential franchise was given a do-not-resuscitate order."

I remember being horribly disappointed by this one. It was the movie that made me realize the fun of the eighties was really over. (I’ve watched it a couple times since to see if it’s any better. It will always just be a “meh” flick for me.)
I hope everyone enjoys Christmas as much as Vincent enjoys getting into the tree! Happy Holidays!
THE SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT CONTROVERSY!
"Protesting Elves, a killer Santa, & the shadowy potential role of a soft drink giant in the downfall of the most controversial holiday horror film ever made. A sometimes surreal true-life tale of festive fear ..."

I actually wanted to do the video with Vincent in the tree behind me, but he refused to climb in it. He’s been jumping in and out of it all month.
That time Vincent said he wanted to be in one of my videos. (He was a good sport!)
The All-Night Video Guide: Slashers 70’s & 80’s is now $11.95 for a limited time!
One of the more bizarre slashers, definitely influenced more by H.G. Lewis than John Carpenter. Why does the main cop scream all his lines? Brad Carter wrote an excellent novelization that’s a must read for fans of the flick.
What a great flick! This was my birthday movie that year and we saw it the weekend after we saw Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving. It was so much fun and one of the better time travel slashers.
All the It Came From Hollywood books are 40% off this weekend at Makeflix! Includes the Salute to Slashers (Book 2), our giant Arch Hall Jr. book (Book 5) and our look at the year 1984 (Book 6). All the novelizations and Colossals are also in the sale and signed copies of my slasher book!
My new blog for Rue Morgue- looking at film fandom past and present in Italy with cinema scholars, Fabio and Luna Chimenti!!!
I’ve seen Body Chemistry, but I need to find Lower Level.
I believe director Kristine Peterson got Body Chemistry after directing the slasher Deadly Dreams (with Juliette Cummins) for a direct to video movie package Corman put together. She worked in a lot of great movies in the 80’s and 90’s like Chopping Mall and Tremors.
I remember really enjoying The Pool when it came out, but it has been a long time since I’ve seen it. I need to give it a rewatch to see if it still holds up. (The “blade in the slide tunnel” they did here was taken to the next level in 2019’s Aquaslash.)
My interview with the Scholars of Slash at The Hysteria Continues (Justin, Erik, Joseph and Nathan) is available now on Rue Morgue.

From the producers of the original Silent Night, Deadly Night and Anthony Masi, the producer of my novelization, here comes an all new movie this December. youtu.be/wIi7YOvQe7s?...
My new blog is up on Rue Morgue. I finally caught up with the author of the Halloween novelization, Richard Curtis! (Did you know a fully illustrated version of the novel was rereleased a couple years ago? I didn’t either!)
Two different vibes that would make an enjoyable double feature.
I have to ask- do you watch the movies as they play or do you read between reels?
I have to find this now!
There are quite a few, but Eviltown is throwing me off. I’m not familiar with that one.
