Misunderstood, oft gregarious, worm stealer, mouse catcher, corn lover, secret friend.

The raven cried out "koyaanisqatsi" before flying into the sun.

On a remote country road in 2017, this TV lay tilted to the blue. American Crows chattered overhead, a sharp scolding directed at who-knows-what.

There is a place up north. It's a secret place. That's all I can say about it.
The river tastes like wine. ๐ท
Honest.

There's a pond in a secret place, with a loud view of the spring buzz.
Bobolinks, dressed like renegade minstrels in black and white, fly in erratic arcs & vanish into timothy.
Calmness has a taste. The citrus sting of something that has grown in heat and wind, and knows what it is.

Thanks for this. And for the sentence about 1 in 4 living things (by species) being a beetle. The paragraph is circled and highlighted, the cover dog-eared and on tap.
The rose-breasted grosbeak sliced through the sky like a wound torn open. A bleeding sun at dusk, it hung for a moment, heavy with color, then was gone. Blood and light fade just the same.

This Palm Warbler had already flown about 1,000 miles from the Gulf Coast on the way to Canada's boreal forest.
If he survived through last summer, he started his 2,000+ mile trip back to the Gulf that September.

A great place to lose yourself is within you. โจ๏ธ ๐ฆ ๐ค
Earlier this month I saw a Townsend Solitaire in south central PA.
Landscape etched in shades of gray & white, bare branches laced with frost, snow crunching underfoot. A fun frozen moment.
To me, this rarity is a trailblazer. Far from lost, my friend is exactly where he needs to be.
One of the fun things about being aware when you are outside are the stories you can try to piece together.
