Hi internet friends, I'm omw to SXSW (covering for Rendy Reviews and freelancer assignments). Rent just went through and need any sort of food/travel support. If anyone is so kind to send funds, I'd be so grateful. Also, my birthday is Friday.

βHoppersβ Review: Pixar Gets Weird in Daniel Chongβs Darkly Funny Animal Comedy
If the creator of We Bare Bears can make Pixar's best movie in years, who knows what great films lie within every animation television creator?
HOPPERS is the weirdest, most unhinged, and unpredictable movies to come out of Pixar in years. But for Daniel Chong, this is just another Monday. Nevertheless, it's the best shock to the system the studio had to its system since TURNING RED.

'Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie' Review: Canadaβs Geekiest Comedy Duo Craft a Time-Traveling All-Timer
It's like if Matt Johnson spliced Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure and Beavis and Butt-Head Do America and doused it in maple syrup.
Wish I could time-travel to SXSW 2025 and experience NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW THE MOVIE all over again. God, I havenβt been obsessed with something this Canadian since Scott Pilgrim.

βGOATβ Review: Sony Animationβs Basketball Flick Slightly Bleats Out Formulaic Story with Heart and Striking Visuals
Tyree Dillihayβs directorial debut is sincere and stunning, baaaaaaa-uuuuut lacks the game to appeal to beyond the youngest of viewers.
GOAT: Man, I wished I liked this more. Tyree Dillihayβs directorial debut has bleating heart and stunning visuals, baaaaaaa-uuuuut lacks the innovation as past Sony Animation fare and the game to appeal to beyond the youngest of viewers.

'By Design' Review: Juliette Lewis Shines as a Chair in Esoteric Feminist Take on the Body Swap Formula | Sundance 2025
Only Amanda Kramer could make me believe that being inanimate feels more exciting than being alive.
Really enjoyed Amanda Kramer's BY DESIGN when I saw it at Sundance last year. Juliette Lewis body switches with a chair. No seriously. It's absurd, theatrical, esoteric and sturdy...like a chair.
Hits theaters Friday. Def check it out.

βWuthering Heightsβ Review: A Fifty Shades Reskin for the Insipid "I Can Fix Him" Audience
This all couldβve been prevented if Ao3 was made in Fennellβs youth.
WUTHERING HEIGHTS is Emerald Fennell's worst film to date. A completely soulless, messy, misinterpretation of the source in favor for a(n even more vanilla) FIFTY SHADES reskin for the "I Can Fix Him" audience.

'SirΔt' Review: A Memorable, Hypnotic Dance Through Hell
It's like going to a rave and experiencing it through a maximalist, shroomed-up lens.
SIRAT hits theaters in NY/LA this weekend. Possibly one of the most unforgettable cinematic experiences you'd find in a theater this weekend. Electric, exhilarating, and explosive. Wish this would've gotten a Dolby release.

'The Moment' Review: Charli XCXβs Metaphysical Farce is a Stroke of Genius

I think THE MOMENT is a real stroke of genius. Whatever water Charli xcx and Aidan Zamiri held during Bratβs impact and aftermath is spilled through this hilarious anti-commercialist metaphysical cathartic release.

Not to get religiously existential on main, but how does one even believe in a God when all he does is taketh the good ones and most talented who bring only joy and entertainment to this world but let the ones who wrought evil run free?

βSend Help Review: Sam Raimi Returns to His Roots with Gory, Demented Survival Comedy
Raimi got his hehe-horror groove back.
SEND HELP or "How Sam Raimi Got his Hehe-Horror Groove" back is a demented return to form. Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien are deliciously looney. Linda Liddle and Abigail from Triangle of Sadness would queen tf out.

Marvel's "Wonder Man" Builds a Bleary Showbiz Buddy Comedy For the MCU | TV/Streaming | Roger Ebert
Though its ambition surpasses its grasp, it leaves one yearning for more of this dynamic duo in the franchise's ever-inconsistent future.
Enjoyed Marvel's WONDER MAN, a buddy-comedy 'Birdman'. Was gobsmacked by the βsecond-gen Haitian pursuing the American Dreamβ rep, so this viscerally hit close to home. Albeit slightly underdeveloped it's by far the MCU's most ambitious entry in years.

βMercyβ Review: Atrocious Pro-AI Screenlife Sci-Fi Thriller Deserves the Chair
Not even a deliciously smug Rebecca Ferguson can save it.
MERCY, the awful Chris Pratt-led pro-AI and pro-cop wannabe MINORITY REPORT, is one of the worst screenlife films I've ever seen. We need to go back in time and prevent Timur Bekmambetov from discovering Skype.
