This is just to say that while I was undiagnosed with adhd and autism, as a teenager, I did feel seen by Amelieβs story and characterization enough to take comfort in it. I hope other neurodivergent folks do so as well.

We see her interacting with her world, and even stimming, (she repeatedly covers and uncovers her ears to hear the sound it makes. I did that when I was younger) or seeking sensory activities like putting her hands into sacks of grain.
Amelie was one of my comfort movies as a teenager so I gave it a rewatch last night. I forgot how much I loved it. Itβs such a beautiful film. One of the reasons I love it so much is that Amelie is very neurodivergent coded, right from the opening credits.
I visited my old elementary school yesterday, (which as a military brat, isnβt really a common thing) and said hello to my old teachers. They were so excited to hear about my life, one even mentioning how proud she was that I have two degrees and that Iβve published stories. It made me happy.
My cat has taken to hitting a painting my partner has of the houses from Game of Thrones when he wants attention. I mean I get it. I too beef with the ending of the tv show but the painting is innocent in this matter!
I was told in grade 5 that I have "vampire eyes" and have never forgotten that. Weirdest and most on brand compliment I could've received.

Me reading the news everyday:
Hi there! I would be honoured to be added. βΊοΈ
I like them all! Reading books, listening to books, writing books, buying books, getting smothered by a pile of books in my house, all of it. π
Love this quote from Rebecca Solnit: Be a brick or a dab of mortar. You donβt have to be the whole wall.
Same here! I find walking on paths Iβm familiar with helps π
Oh I love reading while walking! I find I do a lot of reading on the bus or I listen to audiobooks while I cook. I do read and walk during summer but in winter either I dare not risk slipping on the ice. ππ
Of course! Iβm always happy to help fellow bookworms. π
I loved it too! Itβs one of my favourite books. And yay! Iβm so happy to have helped.
Oooh I love Crimson Peak!
I would suggest Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier, Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno Garcia, The Hacienda by Isabel CaΓ±as, and I Died at Fallow Hall by Bonnie Burke Patel.
