Reframing: State Department releases list of top destinations for American expats

As an American, I'm glad scientific progress will continue as our scientists leave the U.S., international students stop coming here, and we revert to 19th-century energy sources. Hopefully the countries with progressive ideals will be good stewards of science. And let me in as an asylum seeker.

Thank you! From the start of this administration, I've wondered why I haven't heard more alarms going off. It feels like we're so focused on the day's new symptom that we're overlooking the disease. MAGA isn't doing all this with any intention of walking away in 2028. The idiocracy is really coming.

I love music of nearly every genre, including hundreds of rock artists across the spectrum, but objectively speaking (i.e., politics aside), I don't care for Kid Rock. Or Ted Nugent.

Based on this list, I'm not purebred nerd, but I'm def related (I'd at least have to swap out miniature painting for building detailed plastic models of fast cars and warplanes)

Amazing! I've been a wildlife enthusiast since I was a toddler, and I love that almost every day I learn about a species I didn't know existed. What a great planet we live on.

The day that Musk purchased Twitter, well before he outed himself as a MAGA adherent, I deleted my account. And after seeing Zuckerberg kiss the ring, I decided to dump Facebook. (Their algorithm sucks, so no love lost anyway.) Neither platform cares that I'm gone, but I'm much happier without them.

I've been responsible for two parents with Alzheimer's. My mom is late 7th-stage; my dad passed in 2022. At this point, we just want her to be comfortable and at peace. I'm happy for the quality time you have with your mother — I miss that.

No matter what the world throws at us, I'm thankful for a lot, you more than anything else
