If this happens, it should be linked to reversing Medicaid and ACA subsidy cuts. No more “safety net for me but not for thee” crap.

Removing race from kidney function algorithm helped more Black patients access transplants Removing race from the eGFR had a big impact, resulting in 5.3 more kidney transplants per 1000 Black candidates.

This is great health equity news for something Black health advocates knew would happen if change happened. www.statnews.com/2026/03/10/k...

Biggest threat for SE IA still looks like elevated storms w/hail, though damaging winds are possible and depending where the front is positioned a tornado or two as well. Tornado chances may be low but its something we’ll have to keep an eye on for S/SE Iowa as the day progresses

The number of people employed at the NIH is at its lowest level in at least two decades.

Hear from six scientists run out by Trump and the work they left behind on cancer research, tick-borne diseases, and more.

How Congress can restore the independence of US science Members must go beyond reinstating US government research spending and re-establish decentralized governance at the National Institutes of Health and other agencies.

The most impt change at #NIH and to US science this year is bigger than grant cancellations— it’s how the agency is governed.

For 75 years NIH has been largely independent of presidential control. That’s changed this year. New piece from me and @nataliebaviles.bsky.social in @nature.com

Tweet from Paula Scanlan that reads, "the number of people I still see wearing face masks in the year 2026 is genuinely concerning"

Tweet from Jerome Adams that reads, "Why do you care? Honestly asking. I thought the original mantra was “to each their own.” It sounds like you’re wanting to impose your priorities/belief systems on others while saying they shouldn’t impose theirs on you? What am I missing?

Also, beyond Covid – many people have found wearing a mask, has lowered their allergy symptoms- and pollen counts are rising this time of year. And Asian cultures have worn masks for years – are you bothered by Asians? Again honestly asking. 🤷🏽‍♂️"
