Will the crystal puzzle once again tease an upcoming D'ni based game?
Instead of using ChatGPT, why not just get a family member to lie to you while they set fire to a tree?
WAIT! I HAVE A CAR?!?!?!
17 to be exact. Not that we counted...
Still, an impressive feat. And props to every company that decided to support these artists!
Flow was made in Blender and cost only $3.7 million -- but it defeated Hollywood at the Oscars.
This is a huge moment for its team. It's just as huge for European animation, and the ecosystem that nurtured Flow, Robot Dreams and so many other films: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/flow-takes...
RIP to a genuine hero
An dusty, industrial looking control panel in a wall. There are two big white square buttons on it. The one on the left has a red border and the letter 'i' touching the bottom, representing a person stuck to the ground (the dot of the i being their head). The 2nd button also has a red border, but inside the button is an upside down stickman figure, arms and legs spread out. To indicate this person is floating around helplessly in zero-gravity.
You know who should've won an Oscar last night? The person who designed the little 'Gravity on / off' buttons in Alien Romulus.
This games industry bloodbath is because of corporate mismanagement and pure, unrestrained avarice. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

John Keston was a consummate professional and a man of many talents.
We sorely miss him and we're grateful to have this treasure, restored by @gamehistoryorg.bsky.social. ๐ฉต
Incredibly cool stuff if you're interested in video game history/development. Can't wait to have the time to watch all these through.
Exciting news!
Our tenacious friends at @gamehistoryorg.bsky.social launched a library of restored behind-the-scenes footage from our Vault! ๐ฝ๏ธ๐๐ฉต
Here's a sneak-peek of what you'll find in their generous cache. Look familiar? ๐โจ

WOMAN: oh wise Solomon, tell us: who is the mother of this child?
BABY: *immediately pisses on Solomon's robe*
SOLOMON: okay. all right. I've got an idea.
Same here. It's so refreshing!
I think the best way to use it is this: if you're looking for a job at a particular company, you can see which of your "connections" work there. Or if your friends have friends that work there. You then reach out to them to get connected with the recruiter or have them put a referral in for you.
"Hello there, apologies for my delayed response. It's been a busy new year. I recognize that you emailed me back in 2003, but..."
You would lose your ๐ฉ if you saw how cluttered mine was. ๐๐๐
This is incredibly beautiful
It's been an interesting ride. I think VCs are slowly coming back to it now that standalone is predominant. It lowers the barrier to entry. Would love to hear more about your experiences working with it and the schizophrenia experience
This past week at Johns Hopkins, exploring a $25,000 VR headset, the Galea, with built in EEG. There are only around 100 of these in the world and I got to play* with one and experience** the future***
*Try it on
** there's no EEG input into VR games by default
***sleepless nights coding python
