You don't have enough weed for this.
I loved pro wrestling as a kid. But I never liked Hulk Hogan. I more or less rooted for the good and booed the bad. Hogan just wasn't for me. But he was unavoidable. It seemed like he'd never go away. That song. The posing. It went on and on. But eventually, wrestling moved on. And now he's dead.

even though it can be a real pain in the ass, I still like having a historical Jesus
Yea, which is pretty telling because, like, none of that context in and of itself matters to faith one chooses to have or not have. I've seen similar responses to works that situate Adam Smith's theory of capitalism in its historical context. I suspect it's a lot of the same people mad at both.
Indeed. I added 2 replies to the post you're responding to clarifying that I mean no disrespect to faith as such.
Religious traditions have been very important to many social justice movements throughout history both in the U.S. and internationally, a tradition for which I try to maintain respect even in my lack of faith. It's cool if you agree, but it is also cool if you find my lack of faith disturbing.
I don't mean that this kind of knowledge is necessary to be a non-believer. And I also mean no disrespect to people of faith. Though not a believer myself in any sense, I have less a problem with religious faith as such and more a problem with how some people use it.
If more people understood that there were a lot of cultures/traditions with a sacrificial god/man figure in their mythos AND there were a lot of prophetic millennial types similar to Jesus running around at the time, it might lead more people to question his divinity, etc.
Can't read this without realizing "historical Jesus" has the same syllable emphasis breakdown as the King Missile song "Detachable Penis."
A person like me should never be able to observe some of the top political appointees and elected officials in key positions and credibly think, "I could do better."
Happy 3/11, everyone. Don't let this All Mixed Up Beautiful Disaster of a world get you Down. Have some Homebrew and Do You Right today.
While the ACLU does its thing in the courts, this is how you handle smart glasses in the streets.
3-4 is probably my sweet spot. 5 is the most done I can handle. Also, maybe this is controversial, but sometimes it depends on the cut imo. For example, 4 is way too much for a filet, but ribeyes are more forgiving. 3 is probably best for a london broil or flank steak. Skirt steak, 2.
What are they gonna do? Ask Chat GPT? Turn to TikTok and learn that Elvis Presley was actually a KGB plant sent to steal Black music?
They don't know Mojo Nixon. Their brains could use some fixin'!
I used to tell my students this was Elvis Presley.
@foxworthshow.bsky.social Listener of the show since the beginning, big fan of Fox. Will have to take this off my podcast list if Charlie insists on Chat GPT being a shadow cohost.
1 good/service per 1 money. Please, thank you, goodbye.
There's only one reason that question would make one uncomfortable! I would LOVE the opportunity to clarify that all this doesn't represent me. Might even get a free beer out of it.
Hell of a place to "get away from all that" π
American tourists learning the rest of the world doesn't like genocidal colonialists.
Particularly not in *checks notes* Northern fucking Ireland!
When America sneezes, the world catches a cold. People all over have every right to know your culpability in trying to destroy the world.
I use the tools of my enemy to defeat them. I've made my mind a sunless place.
if a talking head tells you people are worried about a draft w/r/t ground forces and you ignore that to declare that all options are on the table, your sloppy fucking comms arenβt really anyone elseβs problem to clean up, imo
Is there a misleading statement about a military draft that could rile people up to the extent that the president would have to clarify that he's not considering it, thereby pissing him off, disrupting their own propaganda aims, and keeping it in the news?
Not my job - or yours - to clear that up.
This is only happening because Donald Trump is president. Donald Trump is only president because of the people who voted for him. They are responsible and should be held accountable.
Whatever else someone is or has been to me, if they voted for Trump, that's what they are first.
Normalize this.
