I used to dual boot until I corrupted my Windows partition. Haven't bothered with re-installing since.
I'm currently using BazziteOS on my PC, so it basically works like a console, connected to my TV but with all the freedom of PC.
if people could buy a console that can play PC games with all major PC launchers pre-installed and pre-configured for hassle-free use, without having to manually install an OS, it will be a much better choice than a PS5, simply because it would have more games and the PS5 games too.
9 months since I fully abandoned Windows as my OS for games and fully embracing @bazzite.gg. I don't even miss it.

no developer is forced to rely on Steam. Look at Ubisoft and EA, they wanted to have their own stores, and literally had to crawl back to Steam because they didn't make as many sales on their own platforms.
I'm sorry, have you not seen what Steam offers to consumers, publishers and developers? Community hubs, mod workshops, Steam Input, offline play, family sharing, proton optimization for linux, completely free gaming OS. You're lucky Steam only charges 30%, just like PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo.

As the loot box fiasco exploded, the exec started defending the grind of the game and measured it in $ per hour to the movies.
I much more prefer a short game with dense content that might be a notch cheaper than the accepted €70 norm, than paying that same price for basically vacuum.
Reminds me of that EA executive saying that it's a better deal per hour to buy Star Wars Battlefront 2 and spend money on some loot boxes to offset the grind for Darth Vader than paying to see the then released Star Wars movie in the theaters...
True but they mostly sell old games. Games that (in the investor's eyes) made enough sales for the DRM to matter anymore.
