After all of this ICE is quietly reconsidering whether to keep the facility open at all. No accountability or consequences for anyone involved. Just a plan to maybe shut it down before more people start asking questions.
They were wagering money on which detainee would be next to die by suicide.
He heard this conversation right after a man died inside the facility. And then he said he had contemplated suicide himself while he was in there.
A man who spent months detained at Camp East Montana before being deported to the Netherlands sat down with the Associated Press and told them what he witnessed. He said he overheard a security guard discussing a betting pool among staff.
Three people have died there in just a few months. One death was ruled a homicide asphyxia after an altercation with guards, another was a suspected suicide, and a third man, from Cuba, also died inside.
Nearly one 911 emergency call has come out of that facility every single day. Those calls are for suicide attempts. Seizures causing head injuries. Assaults between detainees. A pregnant woman screaming in pain who had received zero prenatal care.
In its first 50 days alone, ICEβs own internal oversight unit inspected the facility and found it was violating at least 60 federal detention standards.
Camp East Montana is a massive tent camp sitting on Fort Bliss military base near El Paso, Texas. It opened in August 2025 and almost immediately became the largest ICE detention facility in the entire United States holding over 2,700 people. In tents in the Texas heat.

I bet itβs somewhat similar to the rest of us. There are many different opinions, with many opposed. However, feeling that way while in the military is a much trickier equation, as there are there are certainly lots of vehement, treasonous conman supporters.π€
This may not be a popular or patriotic take, but I wonder if our troops are being forced to fight a war they know is morally wrong, illegal, unconstitutional. And it is all of those. This goes to the generals and commanders as well. I sure as hell wouldnβt risk my life for the Psychopath In Charge.
