On top when you use it with a medium such as ink, that is not forgiving, and without pencil outline, then you have to be more aware of shapes, proportions, angles, etc.
It is really a good way to train and have fun at the same time .
The other positive point when you draw with a blunt tool (such as a bamboo stick) is that you can concentrate on just doing marks and be less precious.
