Hahah!! Normal day on the East π
Hahah!! Normal day on the East π
Our whole side has gone kaboom this evening. Shame I'm on earlies and instead purely managed to break a train!
Adding it to the list of things to do in my career π π
Saw the manager at the end of my shift and he told me to stop breaking things and my new nickname is 'Mr Trouble' after managing to break a stadler cup holder.... oops.. and now this π€£
Not a car style of airbag. Should've specified π€¦ββοΈHad to do a brake continuity isolation as it slammed the e-brakes on.
Someone's lucky! 3 years in and I've had maybe 4 break ππ
Atleast your units don't decide to have a complete meltdown.. Usual day on the west for me though π
A class 720 standing at Stansted Airport with some lovely passengers in the background
Rumours are I'm trouble! π«£
Yes. Yes, I think I am. Exciting days when you rock up and ohhhh... the DSD is broken π€¦Ok, let's make sure the rest of it isn't broken... ohh I've now set an airbag off - great alarm on it though π
Well, I eventually got to Stansted... and eventually got home π
Thanks π I'll be off to Colchester tomorrow to visit some family, but other than that should just be a time to step away from the rails for a bit after the disaster of last week π
720543 and a classmate sit at Liverpool Street, both forming services to Cambridge - 543 is mine which I brought up.
Anddd... relax! That's the end of 5 days on for me, and the start of a long weekend till Wednesday! π
Worked Cambridge to London to Bishops for a break, then did a Stansted trip and eventually took this unit back to Cambridge to stable at 18:16. Have a good weekend everyone! π
It is some days π One day, the east shall suffer a signalling issue too π€£
It really is!
This is one of the few units that's been troublesome with me. π Last time I had it I got the AWS decided to fail (I think it was 524!)
720533 stands at Cambridge North, awaiting myself to set the unit up for departure.
On my way to being 3 years qualified already! There's certainly some rougher days, and one of those was today. π
First up was Ely - London, then was meant to go to Hertford East but a delay cut us short at Broxbourne. Back to London for my break, then Hertford and back, then back to Cambridge. π
Hopefully this track failure at Liverpool Street sorts itself out by the time you get there.π West Anglia was pretty ruined, and managed to make myself about 25 late by the time I've got to Cambridge for my... very delayed PNB π
It's normally a pretty good ride down though. Always nice to feel valued by the manager and ask about how I'm doing at work. π
I always like seeing units I first ever drove. Looks like you had a great meeting with yours! First train I ever drove was 720136 on the mainline and it'll always be special to me for that reason.
I rather a sim than a manager ride out. End up commentating the whole way like an annoying gull π
Best of luck! I was sent there pretty recently and managed to get through π
Working earlies really does hurt but the 0520 from Cambridge to Ely then the 0553 down to London allows for a nice sunrise and see London light up π
Missing out! Lots of greggs was given out and very tasty π
Was it you at Cambridge on the 26th with the Greggs by any chance? π
Love the photo. I never got given any sausage rolls on West Anglia side! Instead, I got stranded by Tottenham for multiple hoursπ
Choo choo!! It hasn't joined me on the Stansted runs yet but it might soon one thinks βΊοΈ
I hope everyone's ok. It was quite chaotic at Liverpool Street when I arrived. π
Very impressive!! π
Unfortunately it's ended now and I've got to do a London and back π- but yes there are some amazing careers that don't need A-Levels!
What a great photo to see as my PNB starts π- truly good advice and grades should never determine what you do in life. Hard work and effort will always be the best you can do
You truly are one lucky folk! Seeing all the good stuff!! Send it to Cambridge for tomorrow morning π
I am indeed a Cambridge driver. One of a few π
