Two preschoolers and two full time shift workers, themβs the breaks π¬π
Hahaha I suspect my next nap opportunity will be when I fly to Melbourne for work next month!
I mean, whether I get a chance today while wrangling the kids while their mum sleeps off a night shift is another matter π
Same here in the other Edinburgh! I have pretty much come to the conclusion I canβt be bothered priming with the airbrush anymoreβ¦
Sorry going to have to disagree with this as the kiwi on the thread - kumara fries > normal potato!
Aurora Australis in the sky above St Clair, Εtepoti Dunedin. The sky is glowing purple
Yay for space weather from the spa pool!
Genuinely, what is wrong with some people?! I donβt recognise the U.K. anymore :(
This year Iβve decided to just embrace my hobby butterfly/crippling undiagnosed ADHD and only paint what I feel like doing. Thus far Iβve painted way more than I have done when trying to rigidly do things I βhaveβ to paint
A binary of Clan Wolf Beta Galaxy βmechs. They are painted in a two-tone tan and grey with dark brown earth bases.
And here we go, a binary of Clan Wolf Beta Galaxy, apologies for the potato camera. And yes, that *is* a binary of Jade Falcons behind them, why do you ask #battletech #nerdlings
A company of Lyran Guards βmechs for Battletech, painted in blue with white right-sided limbs on desert bases.
Apparently I find Battletech units incredibly relaxing to paint!
No jokes about Steiner School please, a company of Lyran Guards. Now just to finish the Clan OPFOR⦠#battletech #nerdlings
Theyβre jaw-droppingly good. And means my daughter can have a decent answer to her question about whether I have any girl models!
A photograph of two six-mech Com Guards Level II units for Battletech. The mechs are painted white and the bases covered with dusty pigments
A wee hobby palate cleanser, two ComStar Level IIβs for Battletech. Playing with pigment fixing with enamel thinners for the bases fo the first time #battletech
Oh, and reading about Catachans π
Space Crusade! Dabbled with it, then my mum found me a copy of Space Hulk in an op shop⦠over thirty years later still hobbying when I get a chance around work and my kids!
Same here. My Dad bugged out of Iran around the Revolution. Came to the U.K., met my mum.
Not to mention he worked every day of his life until he died of cancer. Typical refugee sponging off the state ππ
5/ So, Thankyou, David Seymour, (words I never thought Iβd write!) for shepherding this through Parliament and the referendum so my friend could die painlessly once heβd had enough.
Ka kite ano, e hoa.
Kua hinga te tΕtara o Te Waonui a TΔne!
4/ My friend died with dignity, and, because he was a totally selfless bastard, arranged it with Organ Donation New Zealand to have an organ donation surgical team on standby for the moment he died. Four people have had their lives transformed by his generosity at the end of his life.
3/ I have always agreed with assisted dying in principle, even though I donβt want anything to do with administering it as a doctor. Today has completely cemented for me, that we are very lucky here in Aotearoa to have this available after the referendum a few years ago.
2/ Critically, Pete died at a time of his choosing. Not choking to death because his bulbar nerves had got too weak for him to cough or swallow, or suffocating because he was too weak to breathe. Instead he got to die surrounded by friends, with dignity, on his own terms.
Thread: 1/
So I normally donβt use Bsky for anything other than hobby escapism. And especially I donβt do politics or talk about my work. But tonight Iβm going to make an exception.
We buried my friend Pete today. He was 44, and had had Motor Neuron Disease. He died a couple of weeks agoβ¦
The Southern Alps of Te Waipounamu, Aotearoa New Zealand from above
Off to Melbourne for work, what a gorgeous day to fly over the Alps!
My dad accidentally treated my mum to a cinema trip to *Flash* Gordonβ¦whoops π¬
James Blunt playing at Spark Arena, TΔmaki Makaurau Auckland
James Blunt, you were amazing. Shame the wind has stuck us in TΔmaki Makaurau for two more days!
Didnβt the Eldar do that already??
Next itβll be DOUBLE GAY AND GERUNDS 8mif weβre not careful π±π±π±
Fantastic, love the freehand. Very similar palette to what Iβm planning for the Corsair kill team I just ordered, good to see how good it looks π
Thatβs super impressive! I took one look at the plate in the book and went βnopeβ
I got totally hobby blocked on trying to tie in the aspect warriors, ended up painting some Dire Avengers that looked like fancy guardians and it just utterly put me off. So Iβm working my way through each aspect squad as fast as my ADHD will let me without getting distracted by other projects π
A Wraithlord miniature in the colours of Craftworld Mymeara
Excuse the background mess but this is how I did them!
Thankfully yes! Although itβs currently tucked away in the back of my garage
