i have lost a core part of my identity. we are still learning to be happy with it. my new phone camera is so good you can even see my blemishes are upset.
it is with a heavy heart that i must change "wolf cut" to "velma cosplayer" in my bio
The Dutch cycle more than nearly every other country in the world.
But interestingly, the level of car ownership in the Netherlands is on par with that of Canada.
Good cycling isnβt about being anti-car. Itβs about giving drivers and all others good, safe options getting around.
Hanukkah should be a time of joy. Tragically, the terrorist massacre in Sydney has further increased the fear so many in the Jewish community feel about simply being able to be Jewish, openly & safely. Hate, harassment, and violence canβt be allowed to continue or be normalized.
The anti-Semitic mass shooting in Australia will cause a national conversation and policy change. We know this because the 1996 Port Arthur massacre led to significant restrictions on guns.
The shooting at Brown will do nothing. We know this because it occurred on the anniversary of Sandy Hook.

we have serious, one-sided beef. when i publish it's game over π€§
one (1) researcher has published ALL the reviews on complement in bbb permeability. and they're all the same. and they all contribute no useful information.
More than half of Toronto drivers in a Universtiy of Toronto study didn't look for people walking or on bikes before turning right. Study used eye-tracking tech.
Increasingly deadly vehicles, dumb laws, and irresponsible driving equal people being injured and killed.

The results are clear. Painted lanes lead to more cyclists being killed or seriously injured. Cycle tracks (i.e. protected lanes) are much safer and lead to huge increases in cycling.
This is data from Vancouver. Our politicians should stop ignoring it.

Kids don't always want to be on screens, they just need spaces and places to live, grow and play independently.

i wonder how much of Americans' views on driving vs. transit would change if they had to pay for gas/insurance/etc every time they turned on the engine
"i'm not paying $5 to take the train to work twice a day when i can just drive" is a genuine opinion held by so many people
Today is World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. One of our volunteers @margiesanderson.bsky.social spent the morning postering locations where pedestrians have been killed this year in Vancouver alone.
i've been blessed with a full rack of e-bikes from the mobi gods
Same in Calgary.
"Weβve seen a 225% increase in pedestrian deaths over the past decade."

On Friday we had the opportunity to host a "Roadmap to Vision Zero" discussion hosted by Vancouver Coastal Health. Over 30 elected leaders, decision makers, stakeholders and activists joined for a very engaging and productive discussion. Thanks to all who participated!
