If we continue burning fossil fuels and warming the ocean, coral reefs will become a thing of the past.
never forget that weβre currently facing total economic destruction because fox news got upset about 0.0001% of our population wanting equal rights
Check out who took residence in my BEE plant! This is my first spring with my #CaliforniaNativePlants and I am already considering it a great success. The bee plant stalk may die back, but the whole point is to create a habitat, and I can confidently say I have done that!

Kenyan #journalist Alvin Kaunda was reporting live from Nairobi when a curious baby #elephant, Kindani, decided to join the broadcast. The playful elephant stuck her trunk in Alvin's mouth, making for a hilarious moment! A joyful reminder of wildlife's charm and the work of the Sheldrick Trust!
Pupy the African elephants is starting her fantastic new life at Elephant Sanctuary Brazil. A big thank you to everyone who made this happen!

#Easter is an important day for many and sharing a meal is a traditional part of this celebration. People like Betty who harvests carrots in CAβs Central Coast, make these sacred meals possible. #WeFeedYou

Salvia sonomensis. Early blooming ground cover. Large patch of 18 inch flower stalks with purple salvia blooms.
Salvia brandegeei. Very large plant, early blooming and loved by bees including this male valley carpenter bee. White salvia flowers with large golden, fuzzy bee that has large greenish gold eyes.
Salvia carduacea. Midseason blooms. One of two annual Salvias. Thistle like foliage with two large pink/purple thistle like flowers.
Salvia pachyphyla. Late season blooms. Smaller shrub. Lots of papery purple and mauve flowers on 2 -3 foot shrub.
California has 21 Salvia species (plus many cultivars). Two are annuals the remaining 19 are perennial which can (and do) hybridize. They have different bloom times from early spring through fall. I keep my favorite, S pachyphyla, isolated for seed collection.

PSA - leash your dog when youβre out for a walk. I donβt care if your dog is old or gentle or whatever. Your dog being off leash makes other dogs (who are on leash) very defensive and go into attack mode. Thank you for listening to my TED talk.

We need to focus more broadly than events in the White House. The entire GOP is working to give our Federal lands to private interests. Eliminating Federal land jobs will discourage public visitors. Extractive industries will do permanent damage. We must stop the privatization of our land.
