As he got to a certain age he would leave the city behind to go on his own adventure, his goal was to become a true knight. But for now he was a hedge knight, one without a house to serve. He would call himself Ser Duncan the small, keeping the old joke as his name

Duncan, came from Ishgard, after being stuck there from sleeping in a chocobo cart and being a stowaway, he grew up in the poorest part of the city surviving off scavenging and even fighting, he was given the name Duncan the Small since his kind were rare in the city.
