I dunno how to explain to people that we don't see stuff on the news because our news is being censored.

The amount of people who drove past a CHILD laying in the road after being hit by a car which broke their leg is so fucking disgusting.
WTF is wrong with you people????????? 🀬

First the media caused a fuel crisis by talking about possible shortages prompting panic buying

Now they are running stories on food shortages due to trucks not having enough fuel due to the fuel crisis.

Wonder how that will turn out.

NSCC job losses from $9.4M cut equivalent to losing an entire campus, warns union rep | CBC News A union representative who works as an instructor says the $9.4-million cut to the Nova Scotia Community College's operating grant will result in some 230 job losses over the next four years, which is...

In an email, the Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration said despite the cut in operating funding to NSCC, the province increased spending on colleges this year.

Whhhhy is CTV interviewing Peter MacKay??? They started with NDP floor crossing and let him ramble. Now on to Iran and rambling. He is part of the reason Canadian politics is in the spot it is. Apparently they are having him back…

Pictou county seems to be an incubator for questionable politics.

Advocates ask B.C. to bring back e-bike rebates | Urbanized As gas prices spike due to the Iran war, Vision Zero Vancouver is renewing it's call to the B.C. to bring back e-bike rebates.

I’d say we should ask Tim Houston to bring back the e-bike rebate in NS, but the proposed budget cut the Blue Route funding & basically all other funding for cycling 😩

When the concessions are so grudging that they can’t even follow through with the concessions they did make.

Reminder: the province is still giving $1M to a sailboat race for rich people from away

It is the old PC shell game, slash and burn, get caught and get uncomfortable being screamed at and people in the street give back a small bit making it seem like an increase in funding. Hope the marks will be happy that they changed things. PC's carry on laughing at our stupidity while cutting more

NOTICE TO OUR COMMUNITY
Update on Provincial Program Funding
Kwe' to our community in Kjipuktuk and across Mi'kma'ki.
Over the past day there have been announcements that the Province of Nova Scotia has restored funding to a number of community programs.
We want to clarify that the Mikmaw Native Friendship Centre programs previously identified as facing reductions remain affected at this time.
The following programs have not had their funding restored:
β€’ Family Resource Program
β€’ Youth Outreach Program
β€’ A Place to Belong Program
β€’ Funding previously received through L'nu Affairs
We are grateful to see support reinstated for organizations and services that are important to many L'nu & Nova Scotians generally. However, our program funding has not been reinstated. Critical preventative supports for Indigenous youth and families - including justice system navigation, family support services, and work that helps address and prevent domestic violence - still remain in question and at risk.
As previously shared, the loss of this funding means we continue to face staff layoffs and reduced service capacity, which places additional strain on the remaining programs and services delivered by the Centre.
We remain committed to advocating for the restoration of these critical supports and will continue to keep our community informed.
Wela'lioq for your continued trust.

The Mi’kmaw Native Friendship Centre posted that despite the backtracking by Houston yesterday, some of their programs have still had their funding cut. I’d love to see a list of what is not getting funding to help people stop giving Tim credit for this reversal.

Note that SailGP is also getting $1M from the province, a grant which has been cut by $0 in the latest austerity budget.

This is an event for billionaires and their toys.

$2 million for billionaires to sail around our harbour. Tim and Andy desperately want to be respected by the elite, unfortunately they are simple fools who are throwing away our tax $$. While cutting from essential services and supports for those in need. What a great province they are bankrupting

I wish that I could claim to be shocked, remember that the Tim Houston government is still using NDA's so that their ministers can escape public scrutiny for sexual crimes, so there is zero chance Tim will ever bring in a law protecting women from vile men making fakes

11.03.2026 18:26 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

not personally, I do know 2 families that applied and were turned down, just a rejection email no explanation. good luck if you are applying. My guess is that very few if any will actually get a loan let alone a grant. Tim Houston hates the disabled almost as much as he hates the arts.

Question for my fellow Nova Scotians: has anyone applied for the accessibility renovation grant or loan?

11.03.2026 18:11 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

I’m glad someone got their funding back, but this still doesn’t help my job, or my family, and we are hurting. HURTING. So don’t tell me how my job is less important than other people’s funding. I’m saying, NO ONE in ANY government wants to pay for art or music, and it is killing me and my family.

11.03.2026 16:24 πŸ‘ 15 πŸ” 3 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 1

If I don’t print this anywhere, I’ll scream, and this is the most safe space. I am a music teacher in NS public school, the last time I received ANY funding from the government was 2016. I fund raise every cent. I get grants (gone). My kid’s summer job (gone), my kids internship(gone).

Went to the New Budget Now rally. Amidst the signs, chants & music there was good news: government has walked back SOME cuts.

YET: museums, arts & youth programs, climate action, & much more is still on the chopping block.

Speak out, write your MLAs, keep the pressure on!

They ran the province’s finances into the ground with $6.7 billion dollars in out-of-budget spending that they can't β€” or won't β€” defend, and are telling Nova Scotians pay the price.

After after all that they expect Nova Scotians to trust them.

Nova Scotians have been hurt by this government.

Real people have lost their jobs and weeks of sleep because of these cruel cuts. Real people are having to bear the brunt of this government's financial mismanagement.
