On reading that story, my mind wandered to a pic I took just outside Ovillers in July and...well....ouch. π²

Ypres Burger was always a staple/lifeline after a full days walking in the Salient. π
This would have me on the first flight home. π²
I'm yet to be convinced otherwise that the Merlin app isn't the greatest tool for improving MH. I regularly spend my pre-work morning in the garden with it running and delight at the recording of a new species.
Go big Friday! All available now.

I'm going to need to take out another subscription!!!

@rickhough.bsky.social Started my Sunday in a manner that I think you'd approve of. π

Scottish Football seems to be the last bastion of non Nazi/Porn bot Twitter. Everyone else has moved over here to make it viable in other areas of interest.
Others with far greater knowledge of such matters will no doubt be able to confirm in an instant but I wondered about the Deccan Horse (9th) of the Indian Army in FWW.

So, this was my first tour and I thought the food worked well. Simple continental breakfast in hotel was included. Lunch was DIY either from Carrefour or a local cafΓ©. With dinner, a group meal was available at a local restaurant but not compulsory. Most did though. All very relaxed & no pressure.
I was lucky enough to be on this year's tour at Easter and would thoroughly recommend it. Really fascinating few days walking the ground and benefiting from @seaspitfires.com encyclopedic knowledge of Sword.

I defy anyone to look at this and still say integration isn't working in the UK.
One of life's great pleasures!
Memorial includes 2nd Lt John Jarvie - a local headmaster. Died of wounds post Battle of Arras and buried in St Pol.
I never thought i would reach this stage but I love the Merlin app at this time of year. The thrill of a new species! π
Can't recommend Chris' work highly enough. I've been amazed with what he's been able to uncover in each report. Especially after I'd hit dead ends with my own efforts.
I fear exasperated lady meme is, once again, going to get a lot of use over the next few years.
