Leaving X and being barely active on here has been so good for my mental health. Case in point, I couldn't tell you anything about any online discourse surrounding the NYC dem primary. I think I'm better off for that.

That's bleak

Shoulder issues are so humbling, like yes I can bench 225lbs, no I can't grab that glass from the cabinet or put a hoodie on without hurting myself.

I'm glad secular Easter hasn't caught on quite like Christmas. Let us keep this one. I think the loose/nonexistent narrative helps. Lol
A long-awaited state salary study shows that a sizable number of Alaska state employees are underpaid when compared with other employers.
One good argument for defined benefit over defined contribution plans is that it protects you from this bullshit.

Hey Alaskans π HB 78 will make positive changes for public employees. Let's break down a few of the myths that have been flying around the proposed retirement system #akleg
We should have more conversations, working groups, task forces, and community input. That will fix it.

What has changed with secularization is a return to recognizing that Jesus' teachings have always been radical, well beyond basic human decency.
Ok so not just me lol
Today is a day that is really challenging my promise to myself not to get too spun up about Trump stuff until it's real. Ignore the hype, keep my head down, affect what I can, and move forward.

Just got asked to spot a bro going for max on bench press. I must be looking strong today. πͺ
I've been thinking about this! Can also do it for free, so I just should...
You're a person! Not a brand!
Trump claims to be committed to βfree speech,β but weβve quickly discovered that pledge doesnβt apply to higher education and now, PSLF. He wants to impose an ideological litmus test antithetical to American values and contrary to the statute at hand. @rweingarten.bsky.social @thesbpc.bsky.social
Thank God. It was getting to be too much
State officials have not acknowledged that the beginning of Alaska's application processing backlog for food and cash aid coincided with a 2021 decision by Gov. Mike Dunleavy to cut more than 100 positions from the Division of Public Assistance.
Really it's the worst thing you've ever seen? Even worse than the thing they were rebutting? I really hope Jon rips into this. Instead of outlining what they were going to do to stop the INSANE agenda Trump has spent an hour talking about in the joint session⦠Here's a secret as a minority party they cannot do anything meaningful to stop Trump's agenda. Not until at least the midterms unless some Republicans grow spines which won't happen. Look at the hearings for Trump's clown picks. Every Democrat is voting against Hegseth, Gabbard, and Tulsi. They are also ripping into them during questioning. And there is at the end of the day no difference because Republicans pass them and people like you ignore the opposition because it's smaller than the majority. The Dems decided to do a call to action to the voters???? Wow what monsters. Expecting American voters to take more action in opposing the thing they voted for. We literally voted for you? Which is why Kamala is in office right now with majorities in both houses???
Wtf are you doing??? You are the action? Read some civics. There's only so much they can do as a minority party and they are already doing pretty much all of it. The woman they choose to do the rebut literally spent the whole time talking about what we can do as voters to have an impact. What is hilarious is I have been hearing this message from every liberal entity for the last 2 months. This is literally a Democracy for now. American voters need to take the responsibility and take it seriously instead of being mad that the party with 46+2 senators is evil because they can't outvofe the party with 52 senators. That's ridiculous. No other country has people whining about the party not in power being responsible for the ruling party's decisions. They should be sending groups of senators to appear on Fox/CNN and every other outlet to call out this insanity. Yes, clearly no Democrat has ever appeared on the news criticizing Trump before. Glad you can think of it. They should be introducing a dozen bills this month on every illegal act the president has done.
People have crafted some bills but for some reason 52 is still bigger than 48. Instead they are telling us to do something. Do what ? We voted for you mfers. If you voted for them then they'd be the governing party. It's pretty hilarious to compare America to France, Greece, and South Korea. In those countries people took to the streets and demanded action. They appreciated that Democracy depends on them. In America people whine that the smaller minority party cannot overpower the larger ruling party and get offended when told to do anything and make every excuse in the book not to vote. What do you expect. If people took voting seriously instead of having Restore Sanity Rallies then America would have had Universal Healthcare in 2011.
Take this Reddit comment and inject it directly into my veins.
Not because Democrats don't deserve some fair criticisms, but because it offers some much needed civics education. www.reddit.com/r/DailyShow/...
