Getting my ix fix
Reminded me of this amazing cover
A photo of the Chicago skyline at night with a tangle of bright lighting lignite gap the night sky during a thunderstorm
Boom! Had a great ight show over the skyline tonight. Hereβs my first big lightning shot of the season.
This is a 2-frame composite. Best as I can tell, two large, branching bolts struck the eastern antenna mast of the Hancock. #wxsky #ilwx

Sounds amazing tbh! I personally am not great in any kind of turbulence so your post was quite visceral to me.
I still have a box of guides and geography books. I can't bear to part with them.
"one of the most dangerous and unpredictable waters in the world"
no thank you
I know this thread is about Straits, but isn't Juan de Fuca also a very famous tectonic plate, one that could decimate the entire PNW coastline?

Sometimes I be hating
Iβve also been saying this and people really hate it bc itβs the truth.
I think it's best for everyone to understand that the unified class project of billionaires right now is to do to white collar workers what globalization and neoliberalism did to blue collar workers.
I really want local LLMs to use like you suggested.
It was Gemini fwiw and Google is pushing it hard as a research tool. It now has "memories" and learns preferences.
I think this is the problem I was experiencing and it has happened every. single. time.
After that I asked it to summarize and start over, but that did not fix the problem and it kept getting technical capabilities confused across tools.
When they fall apart like this, it is really easy to spot the "sentence gluing" that is happening.
Pros and cons of digital organization tools. It started off with very nice summaries of obsidian, logseq, anytype, tana, silverbullet and even rolling my own. I started asking technical questions and telling it my preferences and after that it just got lost and misattributed capabilities to tools.
I did this with Gemini and it got lost very quickly. A web search and deep reading would have sufficed. What is the point of a natural language interface if you have to bend over backwards to use it "properly".
Prompting the LLM: I just need a thing-arranger.
Thank you to everyone who keeps posting about Obsidian. Maybe one day I will actually start using it.
Still impressive!
That's crazy! I wonder if it's because you listen to a lot of techno since that video is just one long loop and then its title makes it topical.

Sheβs talking about a socio-technical system of which software is just a part.
On my drivers license:
- weight is off by about 30 pounds
- height is wrong bc there is only one significant digit after the decimal
- eye color has never been correct bc my eyes change color
Harper to the judge: "Your driver's license doesn't list your height and weight at birth. It doesn't list where you used to live. It identifies who you are now."
Yes, this is table stakes and it feels regressive to even have to say it.
I use it too for the same reasons but it is so centralized.
This is why Bandcamp doesnβt enthuse me that much anymore. It just feels like consumption, frictionless, blah
I wonder if it depends on who domesticated chickens first, though an aioli could be made with many different types of eggs afaik
This funeral? It is about me, the alive person.
