That’s wonderful news!
That’s wonderful news!
Look at this cute little Disney+ opening last night as I rewatched Zootopia 2.
If not, then it could be the Pixar films that is either Hoppers or Toy Story 5 (bc movie #3 and #4 won), despite the other competitors like Wildwood and Forgotten Island.
I could see Hexed getting nominated and that’s it.
In other words, Forgotten Island could dethrone Wildwood.
But that’s just my guess.
With that said, it’s only going to be matter of time before Disney or Pixar would win another Oscar in the future after several years of being defeated.
There’s Forgotten Island directed by PIB, The Last Wish’s Joel Crawford. And if it’s anything like The Last Wish, which is fantastic btw (better than KPDH), then it would be like if The Last Wish overthrown GDT’s Pinocchio at almost every award season if they’ve kept its September release date.
I shouldn’t be saying this to another follower, but while I would love to see Wildwood to become next year’s awards contender, I’m afraid that it might not be the case.
Same with you.
Great movie, but I preferred Zootopia 2.
I left for good in November of 2024.
Through thumbnails and my recommendations, unfortunately.
I’m not on Twitter anymore. I left since November 2024.
But I’m still seeing stuff like ”KpOp iS bETTer ThAn dISnEy sLoP” on YouTube during KPop and Elio’s initial release.
And again, this is not a knock against KPop Demon Hunters.
I just don’t like when either an acclaimed or popular animated film not from Disney was used by the cartoon community to attack Disney/Pixar.
Because it will ignite Twitter Animation and use it to attack Disney/Pixar once more.
And it’s already getting old as heck.
Do you still remember if Wicked Part 1 was still in theaters while it came out on DVD?
But no matter who’s gonna win this year, I wish nothing but the best of luck to all of the nominees on Sunday.
At least the Oscars in general won’t be like the Annie Awards in recent years anytime soon...at least for now.
While it sucks that it’s probably going to be most predictable Oscar win for Animated Feature in years, it would be amazing if the Academy would pull a Flow for the second year in a row.
But regardless, if there’s one independent animated film that’s the next Flow…it’s this.
9.5/10
Heck, I would rather see the highest grossing Hollywood animated film ever, which is Zootopia 2, win instead of the most watched film on Netflix, but not to disrespect both KPop and Zootopia 2.
I mean, it’s gonna be a bit of a depressing downgrade going from the first independent animated film to win Best Animated Feature to giving the trophy to the biggest film in Netflix history.
It’s unfortunate that it’s not getting the Flow treatment since KPop Demon Hunters is still stupidly popular several months after its release last summer to the point that it’s probably gonna win the Oscar after its Golden Globe and critics win and the Annie’s sweep.
It’s a near perfect example of how a young child views in a world with some tough and serious moments like her grandmother died or her housekeeper talks about her experience in World War II.
Not to mention the rich and colorful animation that helps represents how Amélie views the world.
Little Amélie or the Character of Rain:
Based on the autobiography by Amélie Nothomb, this is possibly the most unique and beautiful film interpretation of a slice of life as a child I’ve ever seen.
But still, this is a solid film regardless and it deserves to be seen a bit more.
It’s not Flow levels good, but still good nonetheless.
7.5/10
That and while some of the voice acting is great, some specifically the three guys (voiced by Will Ferrell, Andy Samberg, and Flea) that are trying to get footage of Arco are being a bit too mainstream for me.
Arco:
An immersive film by Ugo Bienvenu where the the futuristic worldbuilding and animation is breathtaking along with a powerful score by Arnaud Toulon.
But what keeps it away from being a top contender is the story is way too dependent on copying the E.T. formula.
While I unfortunately know who’s going to win this Sunday after the voters continuously choose not to watch all of the movies that have been nominated for Animated Feature, I still was able to watched the remaining 2 films nonetheless, which are the independent films.
Oh boy! Another direct-to-video Disney sequel to review.
Finding Nemo
Anyone that's an adult who still watch cartoons: Like & Repost this.
I still have massive respect for Pete Docter. He's an incredible filmmaker who knows how to craft amazing stories, and I think Pixar has been in the best place creatively under him that they've been in since their golden age.
That said, he needs to learn when to keep his mouth shut.
Official logo for Swapped and its release date.
Well, at least not coming out on the same day as Toy Story 5.
Happy Mar10 Day!
