Mafia de Cuba is *this* close to being my favourite social deduction game of all time.
Unfortunately I feel it’s overdesigned and the theme is too high fidelity at the expense of trope.
There aren’t any design “mistakes” - it’s just too fragile and needs perfect play or 💩💩

Great Games Night. Won Lords of Waterdeep, and then utterly crushed at SCOUT.
Penitent by @danbullock.bsky.social is full of difficult questions and few answers, tackling the prison reforms of the early 19th century and their consequences. In many ways it's a troublesome game, but those same details make it a worthwhile dissection. My review: spacebiff.com/2026/03/05/p...
