Is this a more than 20% swing?

I know things will tighten when elections get closer, but still...

Sickening racism from a sitting senator. The Ogles hate is contagious.

You’re either calling this out or normalizing it. There’s no third option.

this is also why leftists who dream of red brown crossover are (at best) fascist dupes.

fascism was *founded in order to coopt leftism.* Red brown crossover is literally just fascism; it's how fascism is meant to work.1

The least shocking thing ever is learning DOGE used chatGPT to identify which grants were β€œDEI.” It is critical to understand that LLMs are an authoritarian technology meant to win the millennia-long war on critical thinking and art. They are a right wing wet dream.

The most unsafe anyone feels on a "Metro Train" in NY is when a bunch of drunken Bridge And Tunnel assholes are on the way to or from a game. Invariably white people with high paying jobs.

If he means the subway, it's safer than driving still.

When you grow up with your family and community telling you you have to think a certain way, you often do, even if it kills you.

For weeks now, I've shared information about HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS protesting ICE REGULARLY. So much so that whole states like Kansas and Texas are rolling out LAWS to sanction schools and laws to criminalize TEENAGERS. Please let's be serious.

I spent the last week in the UK visiting family and friends.

The paranoia and fear about visiting the US is very real. People are genuinely scared to fly here. They think they'll be arrested or shot.

My plane home was half-empty

Americans can all rest easy knowing that while this fresh Mideast war may lead to asymmetrical terror attacks throughout the world and on U.S. soil, and household budgets will be strained to a breaking point by doubling the cost of filling a gas tank, the suits at Exxon and Texaco will be just fine.

every time a street in nyc becomes more pedestrian-friendly and more parking-hostile, all the local business guys who drive to the stores they own from their homes on long island, in jersey, the mcmansion-y parts of queens, all flip out wondering how people will get there. my man you dont live here!

Hudson Street storefront vacancies plunge following $13M streetscape revamp Last year, the neighborhood’s storefront vacancy rate dropped to 17.2%, down nearly 10% from the 26.9% it was at a decade ago.

Bike lanes and public seating are good for business! It's common sense: when you create streets that are calm and welcoming, people like to spend time there.

At this level of displacement, at this speed, health care for medically fragile people is being disrupted and will result in mass deaths.

The press called Betty Shabazz, Coretta Scott King, and Myrlie Evers "the widows." Between them, they held six degrees, ran three national institutions, raised sixteen children alone, and spent a combined sixty years fighting for justice their husbands didn't live to see.

After 35 years in the US, the awards honoring science that makes you laugh, then think, will be held in Zurich. Organizer @marcabrahams.mstdn.science.ap.brid.gy explains: "We cannot in good conscience ask the new winners, or the international journalists who cover the event, to travel to the USA"
