Statement on unlawful assembly, arrests at Whipple Building: This morning, our deputies issued dispersal orders at an unlawful assembly outside the Whipple Building after individuals blocked roadways, blocked access to local businesses, dumped glass into the street, and threw rocks, ice chunks and water bottles at law enforcement creating a serious public safety hazard. Arrests are being made. Freedom of speech and peaceful assembly is a right. Endangering the public is not. Unlawful activity including blocking roads, intentionally creating hazards and assaultive behavior will not be tolerated.
From what I saw today firsthand it was the sheriffs today constantly escalating at people protesting peacefully. The sheriffs were masked up like ICE while working hard to agitate and provoke the residents they were sworn to protect, all so they could provide security for ICE who murders people.

ACLU MN reported yesterday that the federal government filed sworn statements that there are 970 agents in Minnesota for Operation Metro Surge & that 407 agents will remain here in March. It’s important to note this is on top of the 190 agents that were already assigned before this surge started.
I need to address this immediately, because I am WAY too Minnesotan to ever claim credit for this.

Dec. 5, 2025, 11:07 AM EST By Alex Tabet MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara issued a stern warning to his officers on Thursday: Intervene when you see Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents using unlawful force or lose your job. “If unlawful force is being used by any law enforcement officer against any person in this city and one of our officers is there, absolutely, I expect them to intervene, or they’ll be fired,” O’Hara said when asked how his officers should respond to excessive force by ICE agents. O’Hara noted that cases of “excessive” force that were “readily apparent” would merit officer intervention. A sergeant from O’Hara’s department later clarified that while Minneapolis Police Department officers may physically intervene in the case of unlawful force, they would stop short of arresting ICE agents.
December 5: Chief O'Hara says if his officers witness ICE using unlawful force, "I expect them to intervene, or they'll be fired."
