We’re using interactive theatre and radio drama involving both women and men to tackle stigma, raise awareness and connect communities to care.

We will continue to meet virtually as a group over the coming months as we aim to implement this learning in our work and our lives.
We spent time exploring how power manifests in our lives and our work, and ways that we can proactively shift and share power in our relationships, organisations and communities.
Last week, Theatre for a Change hosted a 3-day "Power in our Practice" global meeting in Istanbul, Turkey. The meeting was attended by 12 development professionals from 7 countries, all working to strengthen health systems in their communities.
We are so excited to see the positive change they will lead across the region and cannot wait to go on this journey with them every step of the way 🧡

Over the next 18 months, they will advocate for specific policy changes to improve access to #SRHR information and services for young people, including:
🏫 Age-appropriate sex education in schools
💊 Youth-friendly access to contraceptives
👩⚕️ Sexual health counselling and support
These young leaders have now returned to their home countries and, with the support of Amref Uganda, Kenya Red Cross, Plan Ethiopia, Rhass and Space South Sudan, they are forming peer groups and preparing #InteractiveTheatre performances designed to catalyse action towards #SRHR policy change.
The training built trust and cooperation within the group, took a deep dive into the specific #SRHR policy challenges facing their countries and communities, and guided them through the process of developing original pieces of #InteractiveTheatre for advocacy based on their own lived experiences.
Well, we did it! After 12 months of planning and preparation with partners across East Africa, 14 young leaders from 5 NGOs in #Ethiopia #Kenya #SouthSudan and #Uganda came to #Malawi last month to receive training in TfaC's approach for sexual and reproductive health and rights ( #SRHR ) advocacy.
