We report sometime around dusk, or perhaps a bit later - it is hard to tell here, where the sky is often orange the whole night through. The stars are grounded tonight. It smells like smoke. We walk alongside the titans on the horizon and watch them lay down, one after the other.

No, not even a little bit. At one point they even pushed back against my grandmother attempting to do so (she believed the whole Harry Potter is demonic hysteria).

Today I was thinking how appealing it would be to turn into a tree from time to time, to have a deep, low awareness, chlorophyllic slumber for a day, a week etc All the usual cautionary tales of shapeshifting apply, of course.

Remember that libraries are proof that not every goddamned thing needs to be “for profit.”

I created this painting "Dinosaur Parade" in 1990, before I invented the whole concept of Dinotopia. I just wanted to give a glimpse of a lost empire that humans shared with peaceful dinosaurs.

Jumping through that picture frame and living inside the painting changed my life.
