Absolutely. "We are moving towards a merit based system" as an argument to cancel DEI policies is complete BS. DEI (implemented correctly) is precisely helping to judge and reward people based on merit and not on being middle aged white men while ignoring our unconscious biases...
I can really recommend "The No Club: Putting a Stop to Women’s Dead-End Work" - especially for men in leadership positions. It has really been an eye opener! Having multiple sisters and a daughter, equality has always been important to me, but turns out I've been quite unaware of a lot of issues
