A great big black and white kitty faces the camera with two little kittens near him. This is Pepino, the big brother of the colony. He’s a gentle soul to all cats. Every kitten instinctively goes to him or hides behind him when frightened or unsure. His father, the late tomcat Big Fella, was also a gentle lad who refused to fight unless given no choice — Big Fella even brought a kitten (we named her Bunny) with him from God knows where and took care of her like a mother would, so Pep comes by it honestly. When the kittens grow up, no matter how long they’ve been parted from him, they always seem to remember him very fondly. Pep gets a gentle nose touch of remembrance from even the nerviest of cats — including our own Dustine, his biological little sister (who hates all other cats), who took refuge with him as a feral baby many times.
