Most Irish came b/c monoculture farming left its potatoes susceptible to disease. Other European countries had similar crop fails. Instead of culture many fled famine & war. N America had a temperate climate & lots of arable land. Many came b/c UK folks needed slaves & servants to do the hard work.

The president referred to protesters in Oregon and elsewhere as “highly paid Lunatics, Agitators and Insurrectionists.”
He plans to have ICE come hard at us in this Eugene college town. He hates Oregon, hates higher ed and if there's more signs of property destruction or violence the result won't be pretty.
