The why tho? Honestly, Malik is bored and Caleb does his job well. He's amusing to Malik. That's not to say some fucked up part of him doesn't actually love Caleb, deep down. He does, in his own way. He loves him the way you love a possession, because he doesn't know any other way to love

This is all purely because Malik knows how to manipulate him. Ig you can say the building phase took time as Malik tried to best understand how to break Caleb, and how to balance showing him affection and denying him it. That way Caleb stays hooked. It happens probably in the span of months.

There's no exact "building", not in the normal sense anyway. Malik is an emotional chameleon, he simply adapts to what he thinks is best to keep Caleb wrapped around his finger. Malik never changed how he saw Caleb, as an investment. Caleb though went from hating Malik, to worshipping him like a god

Every day I'm here whining about something

For a long time I could cope by making art. It was the best medicine for my depression. But now... I haven't made art in days. I just don't have the energy to anymore.

I lost passion and motivation for anything and everything.

Everything is making me feel more and more caged by the day. I'm constantly in fight or flight mode. I can't remember the last time my brain stopped feeling like the inside of an oven. I'm tired of feeling like a caged animal. Tired of wearing the flesh of someone else. This vessel is not my own.

Every time I'm forced to attend a social gathering, I'm never able to dress the way I want to. I can't cut my hair the way I want, or look the way I want. I have to stick to what society deems acceptable for my flesh

I would be a lot more social if people here simply accepted me as I am...

When I was younger I told myself that I can live my life in the closet. I'll be fine. It doesn't matter much

But it's no longer that easy. I love myself more than anyone ever could, but myself feels like a caged animal desperate to be set free.
