These tools were not considered acceptable or appropriate for autistic adults who self-harm.

I also started a new position at the University of Sheffield last week, where I’m working on a brilliant project to coproduce health and social care solutions with underserved autistic adults.
While there’s a lot to process at the moment, I’m excited to get stuck in 💪🏻
More broadly, I’m interested in autism research that focuses on:
- Mental health, suicidality, and self-harm
- Improving outcomes and support
- Acceptance and stigma
- Participatory research and coproduction

I’ve been very overwhelmed with all the changes and pressures that come with finishing a PhD, but I thought I should finally introduce myself on here ☺️
So, my (nearly finished!) PhD research involved developing a new self-harm assessment tool with and for autistic adults.
