What maths? I haven’t done any. If you have inferred length of time from starts and sub appearances, that’s your maths not adding up, not mine. Every player is different. You can’t say ‘this worked with X so it will work with Y’ or vice versa. As a general rule tho, the best players, play.
Yes, 25 starts, 25 sub appearances. Around 2000 minutes. I can’t see how that wouldn’t have been better than playing less than 300 for us. We are getting the balance wrong between development and protection IMO.
Nyoni getting 5% of minutes feels like a big waste. He could have been on loan in L1 or the Championship, playing 50 games and getting a ton of great experience. Of course there would be an injury risk, but what has he learned sitting on the bench?
