Towards the end of his life, the ability to suppress the memories of that time became diminished. He unintentionally shared them, and they were horrifying.
The time we live in now, fits the pattern of a time past. We can no longer say that will never happen again, it is the now!
I am glad that my father is not here to see history repeat itself.
It robbed him of his youth, and scarred him for life.
He rarely spoke of his experiences, but instilled in me the warning signs of fascism. Although the signs were in plain sight, most chose to ignore them, and some still do.
