78 of 14 last night in Harby, Leics (5/3/26) including 2 Shoulder Stripe, 2 Red Chestnut, an Early Grey, a March Moth and this rather lovely Acleris literana, not one I see that regularly in the garden. #vc55moths #teammoth

Dissection confirms A. coronata.

And the dissection shows that it is.... A. heracliana! Thoroughly putting a nail in the coffin of cilia bands as an ID aid...

Odd and unseasonal is now the norm. Last night's example was a Dark Arches. Gratuitous MdJ thrown in because even after all these years it can be difficult to resist photographing them. Harby 7/11/25 #teammoth #vc55moths

Could do with a little more cloud please to cover up that huge light bulb in the sky... 79/23 in Harby last night - the craziness continues, included 2 Rush Veneer, 2 Rusty-dot Pearl and 2 Diamond-back. Also had Vine's and Lozotaeniodes formosana! Oh - and 36x LBAM....

Still decent catches in Harby, Leics. Highlights last night were Ypsolopha ustella which was new for the tetrad, and another micro I'm sure will turn out to be Blastobasis vittata when gen detted (my third such moth this year), though this species is still not on the VC55 list. #vc55moths #teammoth

Yes, after several consecutive nights and having had 8 traps out last night, and then one MV needed repairs this morning I'm having a night off tonight!
