Lebanon ministry say around 400 killed by Israeli strikes. Let’s say even half are “Hezbollah”, is the remaining number of civilians ok?

Put Trump’s criticism of Starmer and other democratic leaders against his consistent syrupy praise for authoritarian, brutal leaders.
Starmer is in good company. Just remind yourself how Trump praises authoritarian antidemocratic leaders in this thread. It’s an eye opener 🧵 1/

When Israel targeted Gaza’s water supply, people rightly called it out as a war crime, denying civilians the most basic supplies.

Hitting desalination plants is so bad. Not just evil but strategically incomprehensible. Without desalination 75% of the entire population of the Middle East will be refugees. Israel and Kuwait depend on desalination for 90% of their water and other Middle East states aren’t far behind.

Iran has a population of 90 million. All those calling for the UK to do more in attacking Iran, how many refugees facing persecution (thousands already) will they accept?

A reminder. Israel currently stands accused of a genocide in Gaza, an illegal war in Iran, mass displacement in Lebanon and attacking Syrian sovereignty. Is this designed to be the new norm? Shifting focus away from Gaza into more widespread chaos and instability?

How long should it take to confirm whether the US bombed and killed over 170 people, mainly girls in an Iranian school? It can’t be that difficult. And why isn’t this leading every news outlet in the country? It’s utterly shameful.

As Imran Khan said to me, the west will never solve its “migrant crisis” until there is a fair distribution of the world’s wealth of which Britain has had much influence. Perhaps Mahmood and the govt should not be looking at paying £40,000 to return but help countries its looted from to develop?

How can you listen to an Israeli official’s complaints about Iran’s crimes without questioning Israel’s own charges of cruel war crimes, the killing and starvation of children, unlawful imprisonment, rape and torture and genocide. How many fellow journalists are asking this first and foremost?

There is no question of Iran’s brutal regime. But the problem is with those trying to topple it. The countries two leaders could be in prison if not in power. Many no longer believe a word Trump says, and others including scholars and legal experts believe Netanyahu is responsible for a genocide.

Donald Trump has criticised Keir Starmer again over the UK’s refusal to back offensive strikes on Iran saying the “relationship is obviously not what it was”.

But is the UK public with US president? In short: no. New YouGov polling shows that by 49% to 28%, Brits oppose the US strikes on Iran...

Starmer has said they will not join offensive actions but he’s conceded they’re now engaged with use of bases for defence.

Many in America are saying they’ve been dragged into a war by Netanyahu. Only 21% agree with the war. Therefore, have they, the UK and others joined a war led by a man wanted for arrest by the ICC for war crimes, and whose actions the ICJ agreed made a plausible case for genocide?

Keir Starmer criticised over stance on US-Israel strikes on Iran UK prime minister has adopted a much more ambivalent approach than other western allies

Lord Peter Ricketts, former head of the Foreign Office:

“If you’re going to attack a country you have to show it is in self-defence and that there is some kind of imminent threat. You can’t make that case here…An indifference to international law is dangerous.”

Basically, the immigration debate is limited to just politics, us in the media, some on socials and some dinner tables. Whereas, most immigrants and their neighbours are going by their normal lives, their mosques, restaurants, offices, clubs, bars, gyms and parks, just cracking on enjoying Britain.

Two leaders, if were not in power could be in prison, at war with a brutal regime. As a result, innocent girls, boys, men and women are killed and now fear for their lives in Iran, UAE, Israel, Bahrain and Oman. And the west are now more vulnerable to terror attacks. Should anyone be supporting this?

Just a reminder, as some question religious influence in UK politics. There are only two major countries in the world that guarantee clergy to hold seats in parliament. The United Kingdom and Iran. The UK automatically seats 26 Bishops in the House Of Lords.
