Every time I hear Obama speak I get so angry. Not at him. It's just that every time I hear him explain things calmly, thoughtfully, humbly, I'm reminded what we now have to read and hear everyday and it's like a punch in the face.

Some days, it is surreal.
What books did Alberta schools *actually* pull off the shelves in response to a provincial order? It took a lot of work to find out. We still don't have a complete picture. And some schools are still pulling material.
Free speech advocates say it's ban unmatched in Canadian history. #AbLeg By me.
From one great orator to another.
This.
A filmmaker followed me during my last year in Congress while I served on the Jan 6 Committee.
The result was the documentary βThe Last Republican.β

We are literally living in Idiocracyβ¦
"There was something unnerving about this prayer camp practically in the shadow of the Whipple Building. There are layers of pain on that land." And hope, and peace.
Rupert Manderstam with a story from Minneapolis:
The video of a United States Senator joining the violent removal of U.S. marine from a hearing and hideously breaking his arm in a door is an example of what has been unleashed in this country. Theyβre tapping in to get in on the violence.
And then he bragged about it on X later.
"Time to flip some tables."

I AM ON BOARD.
Seems to be the patternβ¦
BREAKING: We're suing Kansas for a law that invalidates transgender people's updated driver's licenses and authorizes anyone to sue anyone they suspect of being trans for using the "wrong" bathroom.
The second you leave this country for even a few days, you realize the place you call home is decaying at an almost exponential pace. The realization that you don't have to live like this is stark, and that nobody in power is taking tangible actions to fix it in your lifetime is even starker.
Kansas just invalidated the drivers licenses of every trans person in the state. Theyβre being told to surrender their current licenses and get new ones listing their birth sex. No grace period. Get caught driving with your now-invalid license and youβre looking at jail and a fine.
How are the others staying? Shame on the democratic party.
Melissa, you deserve a medal for listening to this speech.

You can fact check a firehose of nonsense. These are literally made up numbers. People have given up even expecting the truth any more. #SOTU
This guy gets it.
Since this will likely come up in the SOTU: Yes, US stock markets are up since Trump took office (14%).
But in the rest of the world, markets are up WAY more. Cumulative market gains are more than triple ours (43%)
Not in my experience. Lived in the US for 20 years. Moved back to Alberta 18 months ago. It is hard watching people around me, even liberals, ignore what is happening here. I am very annoying, etc to many.
Whitman College sends a box of Walla Walla Onions to students to have committed to the college. Fun tradition.
